"Place is clean, but needs serious updating. The website says your room has a view of the castle... it actually is a view of the parking lot. If the castle is meant for relaxation, why do delivery trucks wake you up at 6:30am? Who do they put guests right on top of each other when the place is nearly vacant? Why don't the toilet seats stay up because the handle is in the way? Why is the shower so small and with no shelf to hold soap or shampoo? And if this is a place of learning and...

It was all very clean and new inside, the hosts were friendly and welcoming, breakfast delicious, and I liked the location and nearby walk along the River Stour: beautiful trees and meadows! The cathedral choral Evensong service is also a beautiful worship experience."

"Generous room with a direct door onto the courtyard which I liked. Room was clean although the building was showing some signs of age. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the small menu was all very tasty. Other good pubs in the village for a change of scenery but good beer and camaraderie in the Rose and Crown."
