This was a perfect country retreat and antidote to busy, crowded Oxford. The room was clean and spacious, with everything we needed.
This is not a walk to the city - you will need a car or you will need to become very friendly with the excellent local bus system, but the exchange is an absolute charmer of a real traditional country inn and pub.
My only complaint is that the morning coffee set-up was coffee in a bag, which was tasteless and gritty. A little Nespresso machine would go a long way for those of us who need a good cuppa first thing!
We visited just for dinner, one night stay and breakfast. Room vas clean and comfortable, food was excellent and all the staff were very friendly. Will definitely return if in the area.
Really lovely accommodation just a short drive from the centre of Oxford. Very welcoming on arrival and room was of a very high standard. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed staying here. The staff were lovely. The room was nice. The dog was welcomed. The food was good. There was plenty of parking. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a in a nice spot. It was easy to find. We would definitely stay here again. Delightful.
Clean large room excellent staff very friendly and helpful would highly recommend this hotel / pub in a lovely village not far from Oxford , Blenheim palace etc
Perfect location to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Main bar and restaurant area has a great atmosphere, with an extensive menu. Great food.
An absolutely beautiful authentic old inn. 10/10 on character. We had our dinner in the pub below and the food was amazing. We can't say enough good comments about this inn.
Very nice breakfast. A few age-related areas of wear and tear in the room (mould, cracks etc) but to be expected of an old property. Dinner menu was excellent.
We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived. Shown to our room, which was very nice and cosy.
We had dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed a drink to go with it. Overall a very enjoyable overnight stay. I would recommend that if you are looking for a place to stay then you should try here.
Thanks so much for a great stay! A beautiful grade two listed building, super friending and welcoming staff which was really appreciated, we'll be visiting again soon!
An excellent stay - room fresh and very clean - comfortable bed and great shower. I also used the restaurant which was excellent indeed.
I will definitely stay here again when I need to visit Oxford !
The historic building is simply beautiful, very charming, and well-restored. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well-equipped. The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. There was barely a tablespoon of yogurt with the granola, and the toast was cold and hard like rusk. The location itself is beautiful.
Outstanding stay at this beautiful old pub/inn. The staff were incredibly gracious and welcoming. We were all just delighted to stay in this charming place. It was one of the highlights of our trip to the area.
