Our stay was fine. The hotel itself preserves much of the time period it strives for. The room was inviting and the bathroom was very good. We were on the 6th floor and the A/C unit was tucked into a corner. The room did not cool off very well at all.

The general appearance of the hotel was good and very convenient for the town. The downside of this hotel was that a short distance away was one of the main town green spaces and at night it was a gathering place for lots of single non-Italian males who were drinking. It actually felt slightly unsafe. In the early hours you could hear noise, shouting and on more than one occasion they were urinating in public. I saw one of the locals getting very annoyed with one of them. I would say this has nothing to do with the hotel and is something the local town needs to address urgently. Without this I would have given the hotel 5 stars. During the day, the area had been cleaned and was actually very pleasant and safe. Town is beautiful with a great family friendly vibe.

The room was always clean. However, the carpet was visibly worn out in a few places. The toilet flusher worked only in a max flow. The shower door wasn’t closing completely, but with some effort we managed not to flood the floor. I have to note the breakfast buffet: for the travelers on the go and on schedule to have the breakfast available it’s a great plus. It’s very affordable and a great value. The selection is very good, although pretty typical for Italian hotels in this area. The service at the restaurant wax very good and attentive. We had a dinner one night and very very pleased with service and a quality. Our server Michael was very informative as advised us what to choose. The tiramisu was a very special and pleasant surprise. Location is very convenient for the date trips as well as if you want to visit historical center and a park. The day before our arrival we were informed (by e-mail) that there is a parking at the Hotrl if needed (reservation required). Nevertheless, the location of the Hotrl allows you to drive in and park at the front to take time to unload and settle in. Overall, we were very happy with our choice.
