(337 reviews) I stayed at Maverick Apartments Budapest recently and had a decent overall experience. The room itself was okay — not amazing, but not bad either. The building is clearly quite old and historic, which gives it character, but it also explains why the rooms probably aren’t heavily renovated. Because of that, some things felt a bit worn. The washroom had a strong smell, and the toilet flush button was broken during my stay. I assume these issues come with maintaining an older property, though they were still noticeable. On the positive side, the location is excellent — you’re basically close to everything, which makes exploring the city very convenient. The staff were also friendly and welcoming, which definitely improved the stay. Overall, it’s a reasonable place if you mainly want a great location and don’t mind a few imperfections in the room. (160 reviews) I absolutely loved my stay at Boho Budapest and was so sad to leave. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are exceptionally kind and competent. Upon check in, we were given welcome drinks, vouchers for drinks later, and public transportation tickets (valid for 10 rides). The room (I chose the deluxe and the very slight upgrade was worth it) was so large and comfortable and well designed. The bathroom had robes, a towel warming rack, hairdryer AND straightener, among other useful/obvious amenities. Breakfast was very good. And I loved the neighborhood — on that street there are cafes and wine bars and other restaurants (with a lot of patio seating), a great vintage clothing shop, and more. It’s close to so many public transportation options and in a very walkable neighborhood. I really hope I get to come back to Budapest to stay here. It was perfect in every way.
