“I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. And don't forget about breakfast. Everyday, we had homemade to order……

“Close to airport. Poor communication on how to access the property. I reserved a two bedroom unit as I did not want to share a bedroom with my elderly parents who get up to use the bathroom all night long. When we arrived, there were two beds in the main bedroom and a second bedroom with absolutely nothing in it. While we could have moved the smaller bed to the second bedroom, it didn't have any AC and was blistering hot. I messaged asking for a new room or some kind of help and received no……

“The breakfast was amazing. Lots of good choices, and good for those with milk allergies. The pool is AWESOME. The staff are all very friendly. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked well. Only downside is road noise if in rooms 1-10. Ask for room further back if you can. Also, there are no king beds, just queen. So Expedia had it listed incorrectly.”
