Overall, a nice enough motel

Posted Mar 16, 2016
Pros: Decent rates, free breakfast, and dining nearby
Cons: Maintenance
Location: On-site pool, local weekend flea market next door
Overall, it was okay. The staff was friendly, it was near enough to where we were visiting, and there were at least five fast food joints within rock-chunkin' distance. There was also a free breakfast from 6-9 AM (including make-your-own waffles). The room rates were also reasonable, and entry into the motel required a key card for security. On the down side, the mini fridge could have been cleaner (and turned on ahead of time) to get rid of the funky odor that was present when it was first opened. The toilet apparently needs a new flapper, because it ran about every 20 minutes for about 30 seconds at a time, which probably costs them enough to offset the cost of a flapper within a month or two. We had to pull the bathroom door closed to make the noise bearable. Also, there was a cigarette burn on the bathroom counter (even though we specifically asked for a non-smoking room), which suggests that it had been smoked in before. The bed was another matter—it felt like you were lying on a trampoline, except it was "crowned" instead of sagging in the middle—very "bouncy." Of course, that may be just the kind of weekend fun you're looking for, so the jury's still out on that one.

Management Does Not Care

Posted Nov 23, 2015
I stayed here two nights with my sons and nephew for the opening weekend of Duck Season. On Saturday evening my oldest son who is a college graduate and my nephew noticed the very pungent smell of someone smoking Marijuana in one of the rooms that was permeating the entire hallway. They went to the front desk and told the desk attendant and asked her to do something about it. She informed them that it was probably a leftover smell from several days ago (apparently this is an ongoing issue). They continued to press her and she said that she could not investigate it because she was allergic to the smoke and if she was subjected to it she would have to go to the hospital. Again they asked her to do something about it and call the local police and tell them and see if they would do something. Her excuse was that she could not call the police from the hotel phone unless it was an emergency requiring 911 assistance. Our conclusion is the management either does not care or they are involved in the issue some way. It will be our last stay there.

Everyone was very kind. The room was super clean and breakfast was sufficient. Felt like I was visiting family when the maid hugged me as we checked out!!

Nice Hotel

Posted Jan 31, 2014
Pros: It has a clean, appealing look on the outside and had a warm comfortable atmosphere inside.
Cons: People in the room next to us were loud. Why are people so discourteous? We should have reported it to the front desk, our fault for not doing so.
Location: Easy access off I-530
Friendly staff, large room, very clean, comfortable bed.

Large room, quiet place, felt safe.

Posted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Bed.
Cons: Cleanliness - primarily dusting in cracks and corners.
Location: Near the highway, plenty of fast food.
Large room, quiet place, felt safe. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was adequate. There was a very dirty chair and the room was rather dusty all around in the corners, bedframe and such. But, the price was low, so overall it was better than I expected!

Would not stay again

Posted May 20, 2013
Pros: That it was in the location I needed to be in.
Cons: Cleaning needs to be done better & some maintenance work & updating.
First of all I made a rookie mistake by looking at the pics online of the place & reading one review. When I went to check in the lobby had a bad odor & I noticed the pics looked nothing like the hotel on the inside. I checked in & then asked to use the restroom the lady at front desk said no you wouldn't want to use it (she had a disgusted look on her face). Then we get to our room it smells like mildew. There is mold in the shower & on the floor. When we woke the next day the carpet was wet bc the air condition leaks. The contintal breakfast was ok not much to choose from. I will not be staying here ever again.
