Cute small cabin in an amazing location. The views from the place are great but the views leading up to it are breathtaking. Be on the lookout to see a large herd of elk mingling with the cows! The hosts went out of their way to be very inviting. Thanks Marianne and Larry for the cute ornament, that will find its home on our tree later this year!
The Bunkhouse is a hidden gem that I can’t recommend enough. It’s scenic, serene, and the perfect place to stay in between Telluride and Ouray. The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful with the fall foliage, and right off the Last Dollar Road, which has some of the best fall colors. I loved my stay at this cozy cabin, and plan on coming back!
What a perfect place to stay in the San Juans! It is situated between Ridgway and Telluride, with Ouray nearby as well, so mountain exploration possibilities are endless. The location of the bunkhouse is beautiful and although it's in the same driveway as the main house, it still maintains its privacy, especially with the deck. Also, the kindness of the folks living in the main house is unparalleled, so we could not recommend this stay enough!
We had a wonderful stay! The hosts made us feel right at home with chocolates and a hand written note, and even a treat for the dog! The drive was a little bumpy, but we absolutely loved the scenery on the drive in. Would definitely stay again!
The place was so sweet and cute, had everything I needed for a solo getaway! Was super close to all shopping & great restaurants. A 4 min walk to the Gondola into Mountain Village too was a major plus. Looking forward to another stay in the future :)
We had an absolutely wonderful anniversary stay here. This lovely property is set in the most beautiful area. The hosts went above and beyond to treat us with extra special care and added touches for our anniversary.
We stayed in The Bunkhouse in Piney Woods for 4 nights. Larry and Marianne are exemplary hosts and are very kind and welcoming. The Bunkhouse is cozy and comfortable and has a beautiful view. We would love to stay again.
We enjoyed the seclusion and peacefulness of the cabin in the woods. The area is beautiful and our hosts were lovely. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed while we were there.
UNDERRATED! The pictures don't do it justice at all. The view was spectacular. We met the host and she was very sweet, giving us more firewood for the cold, cozy nights.
We loved staying at the BunkHouse! It was the perfect location as the starting point for our daily adventures and a cozy place for when we returned for the night. Larry and Marianne were very friendly and want you to enjoy the San Juan's as much as they do.
It's lovely and secluded. Plenty of room. A deck out back for watching the stars at night. Sweet host and hostess. A great jump-off point for hikes in the stunning San Juans.
We loved this cabin! Off the beaten path. Warm and gracious hosts with two lovable dogs. If you are going to Telluride, I highly recommend this place. This was our favorite VRBO in 10 years!

Cozy comfortable cabin full of thoughtful details surrounded by the setting of the Coen's "True Grit"
Can't think of a more beautiful place in Colorado.
Hosts were incredibly accommodating with wonderful local recommendations and helped us feel right at home. We'll definitely return!
Cabin was clean and in really good condition. The owners were very friendly and had everything setup and ready. They were personable with what was set out. It was somewhere we would definitely stay again.
Absolutely amazing place and hosts! They made everything super easy and relaxing. The cabin was clean and cozy, and we loved the area. Our hosts provided lots of amenities and even a little welcome gift for us AND our pups. Located near Ouray, Telluride and Silverton - we got a chance to explore and relax all in one trip. Thank you oh souch for your kindness and care. - The Zelinas
We had a wonderful stay at Bunkhouse and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the caretaker/owners. Wonderful people. We loved the peace and serenity of the location. The dark skies were incredible!
This is one of the few rentals I have had that really lived up to the past great reviews! Quiet, out of the way location (but easy to access), beautiful scenery, on-site welcoming and helpful hosts, accommodations nicely decorated (loved the birdhouses!) and clean and neat. Thanks for a great weekend!
