"family B&B near park in town"
very clean and cosy ; well appointed, but very noisy neighbours or very thin walls. Lots for breakfast, but my bacon and egg was cold. Close by parking very handy. OK for one night.

"Beautiful surroundings. Room was clean and warm. "
Staff were helpful. Parking during the day was an issue as golfers used the hotel car park, despite having a separate car park a short distance away. Breakfast on the second day was delicious, but first day was a very long time coming and cold. We also had a bar snack and the chips were the best I have ever tasted.

"Close to harbour, city centre, bus station. Handy."
Only stayed for one short night & very quick breakfast, which was nice. I'm sure the shower worked but my friend couldn't work it out & we didn't really have much time to figure it out in the morning due to a pleasant late evening/early morning drinks in town! Hosts ordered our taxi &, zoom, we were off. Would stay there again.

"Convenient "
On arrival staff were friendly and helpful and showed us to our room, informed us times restaurant was open for meals. We had dinner in the Bistro 38 as d the food was excellent and well presented. There was a good choice for breakfast, again the staff were friendly and had time to chat. Will definitely stay again.

"A lovely pub with fantastic staff"
We stayed here on recommendation from a local friend in order to attend a stag do.The quadruple en-suite we booked (for 3 of us) was exactly what we needed and with breakfast included it was great value. Danny and Tamsin are the new owners of the pub and are clearly putting a lot of effort in to welcome both locals and visitors into the venue. They've only recently taken over but are excited about plans for the future which include updating the accommodation. The rooms are however perfectly clean and functional, even if a little dated. Free parking is available nearby (a 2 minute walk) for 24 hours. Be warned, the access roads are a little narrow and we did worry for a second we were going to be in one of those local newspaper stories about "when sat-nav goes wrong", but it all worked out alright in the end. For 3 young(ish) chaps needing a bed for the night at a reasonable rate The Boringdon exceeded just about every expectation we could have. If we ever have reason to be in Plymouth again... we'll be back.

"A very enjoyable stay."
My wife and I paid for a room to stay in one night for our first anniversary. The staff were very kind and helpful and could not do enough for us. There were plenty of toiletries available for us to use and the room had practically everything we needed. I would point out though that this is *NOT* a hotel. Our room was one of three (I think) located above a pub. Whereas my wife and I were lucky (we were there to celebrate) it's worth saying that being a pub there was a fair amount of noise up to closing time. If you're looking for somewhere quiet to stay, this isn't it. The parking was adequate for us. We were lucky enough to have a parking space immediately outside the building but I could see that had the nearby pubs / shops been busier, we might have had problems. If you're lucky enough to know the area (I was born and grew up in Plymouth) you might have some luck but as it was, we didn't need it. There are frequent and regular buses to and from the city centre, stopping literally a couple of minutes from the pub. Very helpful for us as the walk would have taken us about half an hour. it's also worth saying that our room did not have its own toilet / shower. There was a toilet and a separate shower across the hall from our room but these were communal. Not the biggest problem in the world but again, worth mentioning. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Pocket Guide: Plymouth, Devon Pet-friendly Hotels

The principal town of the south west, Plymouth is famous for its maritime legacy. The Hoe, where Drake awaited the Armada, overlooks the magnificent harbour (Sound): home to naval dockyards and warships, accessible on sightseeing cruises. The bustling atmospheric Barbican district by the inner harbour, with its narrow streets of Tudor and Jacobean buildings, is where the Pilgrim Fathers sailed from. Visit the Elizabethan House and the Plymouth Gin Distillery, as well as the National Marine Aquarium - one of England’s finest.
