Fisherman’s Cove on Lake Champlain – A Private Waterfront Getaway

Fisherman’s Cove on Lake Champlain – A Private Waterfront Getaway

10/10 Excellent
"Overall, it was a great location and a great stay. Very private and quiet with excellent views. That was most important to us. If you are a sensitive sleeper, bring a sound machine to help block the occasional train or duck hunters who start shooting near the lake early in the morning during duck season. We were not at the house much, but heard the train once during the day and a couple of times at night when we got up to use the bathroom. The bed was very bouncy and non-supportive and sank several inches with weight, causing us both to roll toward the middle. If you prefer a firm, supportive bed, you may not like this one. It was really soft and not ideal for us. The kitchen had most basics, and we were pleasantly surprised to find spices, coffee and condiments. Extra pillows and blankets were also appreciated. The hosts can be slow to respond, and no instructions were provided for the heat, washer/dryer combo or fireplace. It took us two days and many attempts to get the fireplace working, as there is no simple on/off switch. There is also no hair dryer, which surprised us since this was the first rental we’ve ever stayed in without one. Hopefully the hosts will add one for future guests. We didn't end up using the canoes or golf cart, but we were glad to have those extra options. Overall, we would definitely recommend the property, but I wanted other sensitive sleepers to be aware of the things I mentioned so they can plan accordingly."
