Good-sized room, restaurant & bar on site, pool and spa facility. Also, outdoor laundromat across parking lot—expensive but useful, and a small food court & petrol station attached. No refrigerator in the room—felt the kack of that.

The pool is shared with a gym and for folks who are from the US you need a swim cap. The desk staff was perfectly helpful but there is no information about amenities in the room and they don’t provide any info about what you can do in the hotel. The front desk ladies all seemed brand new to the job though. Room was nice though.

Stayed in a family room, a good size with standard hotel room facilities. Breakfast offering was very good, The only downside was navigating swipe key system for hotel lifts, it's not easy or obvious... however, staff on site were very helpful. Hotel is in a very good location, specifically if you're in a car and navigating to and from places like Kilkenny.

We had a lovely stay at the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise during our trip to Ireland. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, making it a great base for visiting family and exploring the surrounding area. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and inviting. It was a nice place to return to after a busy day of traveling and sightseeing. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise to anyone visiting the area. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Ireland.
