"Gorgeous beach, strong cocktails, we had the best time soaking it all in. Only hiccup was the construction—balcony air wasn’t as breezy/fresh. Still, can’t wait to return. Big thanks to all the friendly staff"

"A truly beautiful piece of paradise! The lanai was absolutely incredible and the photos don’t do it justice. It’s even more breathtaking in person. The ocean views, sunsets, and stargazing were unforgettable. Sitting outside and seeing the Milky Way with the naked eye was a magical, unexpected gift.Although the studio is located beneath the hosts’ home, it felt completely private, and Mitsuko and Curt were respectful of our space. At the same time, they made our stay even more special. The fresh fruit tray from their garden was delicious, and their tips about local beaches, farmers markets, and must-see spots were incredibly helpful. We also had no issues with the studio being too hot with our end of July stay. The location is also fantastic, just minutes from some of the best beaches on the island. It was the perfect home base for all of our beach days.As mentioned in another review, if you’re looking for a luxury resort style stay, this would not be it. But if you’re seeking an authentic, relaxing experience with unbeatable views and warm hospitality, I can’t recommend this place enough."
Mauna Kea Villa, Walking Distance to the Beach and Hotel - Beyond Perfection!
10/10 Excellent
"My wife and I planned to stay at this villa for about a week. We were so impressed that after two days we extended our stay for another 11. The access to the beach and Mauna Kea was close enough to be convenient but not so close that we felt like we were in a hotel. The place was clean, very well-equipped and exactly as advertised. The owner made herself available even when she was out of the country and the local management was quick to respond to the very few issues we had (spa issue that was fixed.) There is a lot to offer in this villa so be sure to really explore the place before you buy anything. It may take a bit to figure out the lights, TVs and other amenities but"
"Overall we were thoroughly impressed with the property. It had nearly everything we needed. Management group was quick to communicate, friendly and helpful. When we had an issue with a night stand light, the local manager had it switched out immediately. The view was priceless!! I enjoyed many afternoons lounging on the hammock. Obtaining the key cards and info for the Mauna Kea Amenity package was challenging. The property rental management group is different than the Mauna Kea group that owns/manages the amenity package. While this is fine if there aren’t issues, when we DID run into problems we found it difficult to get answers from anyone. Many people indeed tried to help but nothing could be done until the next day. Would advise anyone doing the package to pickup your package at the Westin before they close at 6 pm and to confirm they have everything they need 48 hours in advance. While we did have difficulties obtaining our package at the start of the trip, we did believe it was worth the money for easy access to beach, chairs, towels and pools. Overall, we loved the rental property and would definitely stay again. Many thanks!!! "

"As advertised. The view and ambience is incredible- The highlight of our days was coming back here to swim and soak in the mountains and ocean views. And watch the sunset! The house is very well stocked, the care instructions are clear, and the owners are communicative if needed. It might seem far from some amenities, but not prohibitively so. We used the house as a base for exploring the island and had a wonderful stay.Thank you! We can’t wait to return! "
Spectacular Ocean View, Peace, Beauty, And Relaxation two to five guests
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful home with an amazing ocean view. The landscaping was phenomenal and helping make it feel so peaceful and relaxing. Very quite location but still easy to get to the Waikoloa or Waimea areas. Great stars at night. Outdoor shower is fun! Laundry was convenient. Owner is excellent at communication and answering any questions. Would definitely stay at again!! "
Mauna Kea - Waiulaula Condo - Stunning Sunset and Sunrise Views - Close to Pool
10/10 Excellent
"This lovely home exceeded our expectations. We've been traveling to the Big Island since 1984 and this was our favorite stay. Comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated with gorgeous views. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai and preparing meals in the roomy, well stocked kitchen. Access to the Mauna Kea Resort and the on-site pool was frosting on the cake! Donna is a pleasure to work with and answered our questions promptly & kindly. Already looking forward to our next visit!"
Beautiful 6 bed/ 6 bath Spacious Home on the Kohala Coast
10/10 Excellent
"Everyone loved it. Jeff, the manaager, was easily accessible for any issues that came up.Suggest that owner respond much faster to messages through VRBO.Also suggest there be a draer with pencils, paper, scotch tape, screwdriver, etc."
Hale Ohia Seaside Charmer Near Iconic Big Island Beaches!
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful view overlooking the ocean, and both mountains! Lovely sunsets. Stargazing at night without needing to leave the house was a bonus! Well stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen. Beautiful outdoor space with lots of seating choices. Very responsive hosts. Beds were comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower! Be aware it is right on the main road, so there is some traffic noise, but it did not detract at all from our enjoyment of the home. The neighborhood itself is very quiet. Having an easy drive to the Kohala coast beaches, Waimea, and Hawi was so nice. "
Idyllic Setting on Waialea Bay - White Sand Beach, Family Friendly
8/10 Good
"Very unique setup! It felt a bit like a camp as we had 3 separate buildings and then one building had a kitchen/living area, but bathroom doors were outside of main living area. We were slightly shocked to find several geckos living in the kitchen when we got there at night! This is a VERY open air rental with NO AC, so I must have missed that info when booking. There was a scorpion in the bathroom and I did contact the owner about having someone come to spray for that and she did. After renting several VRBOs this is the slowest responses I have received, even though this was a holiday season, a little surprised at that when I was concerned about geckos and a scorpion! It was clean, just older and not quite what we expected for the high price we paid. The location is nice, but several people took over the beach on the property so it isn’t your own beach while renting and you will need to put chairs out to save a spot.I would recommend the owner update the instruction book for detailed checkout instructions as they were missing and I had to ask. This is a nice place to have a family vacation, just a little too open air for those with allergies and bug fears. It felt a little weird not being able to lock things up well as it’s so open and you really can’t use the bathroom at night without going outside to walk to one at night if your room doesn’t have one attached.Cool concept for the right families who aren’t bothered by those things.Had Some nice touches like games/cards!"
