Perhaps the businesses make enough in high season to ride out the rest of the...

I Loft Santiago by Upper Luxury Housing

I Loft Santiago by Upper Luxury Housing

10/10 Excellent
"This apartment is amazing value! We like to walk, so the half hour to the Cathedral was pleasant and welcome. The apartment was spacious, open, clean and beautiful. The privacy was perfect, even though you could see out to mininal residential passers-by. There was a Mercadona within a couple of blocks and many places to eat or enjoy the ambience of a bar. I cannot imagine trying to find another place when we return to Santiago de Compestela."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Rates?
The best area to stay in Rates is in the village center, particularly around the Praza da Igrexa, which is the heart of the community.

This area is characterized by its historic stone buildings, including the Romanesque Church of Santa María de Taxa, and narrow, winding streets. It's a small, quiet village, and staying here means you're steps away from the few local amenities available.

For travelers seeking a peaceful and authentic experience, the village center is an ideal choice.
When is the best time to go to Rates?
The best time to go to Rates, Galicia, Spain, is during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and comfortable for outdoor activities.

During these months, you'll experience mild temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), with less rainfall compared to the winter months. This makes it ideal for walking the Camino de Santiago, exploring the natural surroundings, or enjoying the local gastronomy.

Summer (July and August) is also a good option, with warmer temperatures and more sunshine, though it can be more crowded due to school holidays.
