“Not good overall”

“Quirky property. Fabulous steaks for dinner. Limited parking but next door village car park was fine.”

“We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was incredibly nice—clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The location was absolutely perfect, and having hassle-free onsite parking made our trip so much smoother. We also loved the nice pool area, and the food at the restaurant was both delicious and very well priced. Highly recommend this place,”

“The room was a good size and comfortable. We are there in the evening. Food was cooked well. We enquired what time breakfast was and where we ate. We were told between 9-11am downstairs in bar restaurant. We went downstairs at 9-15 am only to find the place deserted!! Absolutely no one to be found. Apparently our breakfast was a bunch of bananas, some apples, cereal bar and a pot if granola in a small fridge left on the landing. No milk!! On Expedia it stated breakfast was included with photos……

“The property was very clean in the rooms but the veranda was really dirty and dusty it looked like it had never been cleaned the bed was really clean and comfortable and it had a massive TV in the room and some exercise things too. The bathroom was clean and towels were lovely and with toiletries provide it was a bit far from train station to walk but the bus stop was nearby as it was a bit expensive to use taxis. They had lots of outdoor space to eat and drink as you were next to the Caversham……

“Very pleasant staff. Both in reception as well as at the breakfast!”

“Overall enjoyable stay. Staff friendly and supportive. Parking easy. Room overall comfortable - radiator and heater helped warm the room. Shower needs removal of mould and descaling of shower head. Preordering breakfast worked fine and the omelette was very enjoyable. Dinner was good. Sharing starter good as was the beef stew and Bull burger. Crumble nice. Enjoyable drinks in the bar.”

“Clean and good location”

“The building is very old. With this comes issues with either a very steep staircase up to the rooms or use of an emergency exit at the rear (which is made of metal steps with a precarious old mat dangerously situated at the top). The room was lovely but it was very hot as situated above the kitchen. The weather was forecasted to be 28/29 degrees and I had to ask for a fan. It was a struggle to sleep in such temperatures as the fan was noisy so had to be switched off. In the morning I was……

“Decent but small single room EXCEPT the kitchen vent. All was fine until 7am when it started up like an aero engine and then that wasn't great (that's English for a bit grim). Ensuite is for skinny people only. Very 1980's suite and tiny washbasin squeezed in ext to the shower enclosure. Fan broken so it was quickly like Viet Nam in monsoon conditions in there.”
