"When we arrived the hotel was closed. it seeems to be in very deep works for a renovation. No bell ringing at the entrance door. We had to phone. A little bit complicated for foreign people. Happily , Neighbours have help us in our phone call. When we were inside all was satisfying. Just a bit of angst when you arrive, and that nothing seems to work as you aspected."

"Interesting old hotel/farm setting. Old stone hotel building but in good condition. Arrived after dark a little before 8pm and the place was completely dark. Had a hard time finding a lobby for check in. Another guest helped us and we got someone (non-English speaking) to check us in. Our room on the third floor was modern and clean but small. "Very spacious rooms (especially for a European hotel in a smallish city), comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. They are not fancy, however, and there aren't a lot of unnecessary amenities -- don't expect a lot of bells and whistles, just a solid traditional hotel with friendly staff. The beds and pillows were a bit too soft for me, but may be perfect for you. The breakfast is very filling and tasty, with a surprising amount of variety -- especially worth getting in such a small town with relatively few morning options. The bells from the church across the street are definitely audible -- and start early and end late on weekends -- but didn't really bother my friends and I too much. Given the location and the price, this is an excellent choice for your trip to Meissen."

"Room cold Told to move car to back lot as it was in an electric one even though there are four spaces. No spot available at back so parked beside building. Next morning i see a non electric car parked in the space I was in. Told receptionist this at check out - she offered to reimburse €15 cost but did not know how to refund me. She spoke with her colleague who decided not to offer a refund as I had parked inside. I stated that there was no reason for me to move from my initial parking space and as such was being asked to pay for a parking space I had not got. He didn’t care. Avoid the hotel - hidden charges to park and use facilities - there was no mention of discount for hotels.com gold members either. "
