The best part of the hotel Monte Kristo is it’s location. Close to Riga old town, train and bus stations, shopping centre etc. Hotel itself is a bit dated - furniture with wear marks, old TV, uncomfortable bed mattress and pillows. Every night would wake up by noisy neighbours next door or by fellow hotel guests just slamming the door on the same floor. Windows are double glazed so you don’t really get hear noise coming from the street. Bathroom is ok. It’s not provided with the fluffiest towels and the best toiletries, and you get wall mounted hair dryer that cuts out after 3 min of using and later switches on again. But then again for 30£ a night you get what you pay for. Staff is polite and helpful. So overall if you are not too fussy a couple night stay will suit you at this hotel, otherwise I would recommend to stay somewhere else.
