Birthday celebrations
60th birthday celebrations in Rome which were lovely. Hotel Fiume was a lovely base if a bit far from the metro. Buses were from Piazza Fiume but always busy so had to stand the 20 min ride to see attractions. Hotel Fiume was small and in boutique style which we liked. Decor in our double room was a bit dated, wallpaper edges peeling, some loose fittings around, lighting quite subsided too. Main issue was the double king size bed as it wasn’t, it was 2 beds put together so the mattresses kept parting, it would have been great if there was a king size mattress on the two beds as it was comfy. Breakfast was very nice and had enough choice too. Plenty of bars and restaurants locally. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. In hindsight if we visit Rome again then would probably stay more central.

The staff was excellent the restaurant across the street was delicious. The location was far from popular sites but a taxi was easy to get. Many delicious restaurants near this hotel.

The facility is nice and the staff tries to do a good job. Only one restaurant close by. Otherwise a taxi is required.
