Salish Inn

"This new hotel is interesting in that it is nearly staff-free. I fear it may be the newest idea from corporate American - Americans love self service so let's give them a self-service hotel. The one staff person we saw was cleaning rooms and doing laundry, so consequently couldn't let us in until 4:00. The small rooms make for tight quarters for two people. The breakfast is very limited, both in terms of what's offered and the timeframe in which it's offered. But what it means is they only have to have one staff person there for a period of an hour and a half, then the lobby is empty again. Bottom line, this would be a great place for one person to stay briefly if they never need anything from another human. That said, it was new, clean, and a great location."

"We stayed 3 nights in this beautiful setting & lovely room with most comfortable bed ever! This hotel is on the water and landscaped to perfection. The spacious room was pretty with every need anticipated including gas fireplace , full length mirror, cosmetic mirror, wonderful bedding, mini frig with drinks & snacks. Every detail thoughtfully provided & clean to perfection. We sat on the balcony in the mornings & enjoyed hearing birds & views . My only regret was not staying here longer. Both the hotel setting & room could be featured as magazine cover in my opinion. Loved Hotel Bellwether in Bellingham WA."

"Easy check in. Staff was friendly. Room was standard. Easy access to ferries. Parking fair. No elevator so be prepared to possibly have to carry luggage up the stairs."
