The position is very central for the town and no hills to climb! Lovely food too. Highly recommended, my only comment would be that we stayed on a very hot night so had the windows wide open (the room had a Dyson fan as well) and we could hear the customers in the outside area until quite late, though I would add that The Fortescue provide ear plugs! Loved our stay at The Fortesque, we had a great room which was well furnished with a lovely bathroom. Fantastic quality rooms fitted out in a modern style. Excellent location right in the town and a short stroll to the gin factory. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Great breakfast and decent pub food too. Parking is a issue in salcombe & no spaces were available at the car park that the pub has a permit for. However we parked for free down the road within a 10 minute stroll along the estuary. The only thing to grumble about would be that there was a late night event on the night of our stay which we were not informed about. The staff are really friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was great and the rooms have recently been refurbished. Dog made welcome and breakfast was lovely.
