Let me start by saying, I’ve stayed at several places in San Diego over the past years. Last time as recently as two months by the Marina. My complaint is .. there was no drinkable water in the Hotel. No bottle water I. The room , none to buy and the water dispenser was broken in the lobby. Also the room was advertised as with” a view.” The only view was that of a wall across the window! I was really disappointed in The Bristol. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or would I stay there again.

I booked a room with a sofa, did not get it, didn’t even want to complain since it was for one night, but I paid for more. 2. The bathroom door was really bad, did not open and close easily and we got stock twice in the bathroom. 3. Self Parking is a big hassle 4. Towels had hair on them.. I way overpaid for this hotel. It’s more like a hostel..

We have never been to San Diego and booked hotel because of high ratings for cleanliness and location. The location was great, however, we arrived to find long hairs in the bathroom, stains on curtains and furniture, and mildew in the shower. We had limited hot water and bathroom door would not shut completely. The ice machine on floor 3 was placed in a housekeeping room and was absolutely filthy. In addition, we paid for VIP access but it was not honored, even with a confirmation and payment receipt. The young girl at front desk was great and valet service was prompt. I personally would not stay here again but if your looking for convenience to Gaslamp and Little Italy area, it’s a good option for location.

Very nice hotel in the middle of Gaslamp quarter area where everything was in walking distance or just a short uber ride away. Rooms were sweet, and had everything we needed. The front desk staff were nice and the valet parking crew also. Wasn't overly crowded. Only downside was construction going on in the area, right across the street from our room, and lots of fire truck activity in the area but it wasn't too loud or annoying. Nothing a good pair of ear plugs couldn't quickly block out. Valet was a little tight getting out if there were others lined up to get their cars and if they bring your car around the front way be prepared to load up and get everything ready to go whilst blocking traffic on the street side. It's a 3 lane one way road, which leaves space but if someone needs access to the parking they have to wait for you to leave, so you can feel a but rushed. However, if there is no one else getting their vehicle out at the same time as you, then it is fine they bring your car out the other way which is much easier and you don't feel rushed or in the street. But overall, very nice hotel!

The hotel is not new, but has been renovated, so the rooms are nice and comfortable. It is located downtown, not far from many points of interest and next to the trolley Blue Line, which is also convenient. Unfortunately the street hosts many people who are most likely under the influence of drugs and it is not very nice for walking around.
