Lovely, very safe and quiet property. Property manager Lisa is so helpful and knowledgeable. We didn't have an issues during the stay except for one small one with a door code which she handled so quickly and efficiently for us. Wonderful property.
Upgrade to a suite, this place is worth it.
Room was perfect for our stay. We enjoyed it being a quieter place. We stayed in a suite room which had two bathrooms with showers (1 in main room and 1 in bedroom), I did learn that water was able to get noticeably hotter in one shower than the other. Unique experience in not having any staff on site, checking in online and getting code for room turned out being very easy. Everything we needed or wanted was already provided, plenty of towels, extra pillows and linen, extra blanket for bed. They left messages to remind us they were only a phone call away if we did need anything. This is not a fancy or ritzy place but is a nice clean quiet place to stay. It is our favorite so far out of the places we have stayed in Sandusky when going to the park. We will be back!
This hotel looked so cute from the outside. Inside was very clean. I noticed on at least one review stated their bed was broke. Ours also wasn’t the sturdiest in our first room. But I reached out to service and they switched our room without an issue! So big brownie points for that. I also really appreciated that their TV had the streaming apps. (Hotels normally just have cable 👎👎). The guests before us were even nice enough to stay logged in! Jk! But this hotel gets a 4.5 star rating from me!

Liked: Cleanliness
Room 1 the bed was broke on the the side close to the door .The place was clean and nice and quite.
Very clean rooms staff was nice and helpful parking was easy kitchen was simple but had everything you need I would stay again my room was premium suit it’s like small apartment almost big enough for me and my spouse and their service dog to have room to move around bathrooms very clean beds very comfy and clean
Upon arrival, we found the property very neat and tidy. Whoever takes care of the flowers, does an excellent job. (Loved the flowers!) We had no trouble with the door lock or communication with the hotel. They were helpful and responsive. The rooms look modern and appear clean enough.. until you realize that the floor leaves new socks, black. The dirty floor didn’t bother me as much as the non-working coffee machine. This place is almost great but just needs a steam mop to the floor and a new Keurig!
The room is perfect if you just need somewhere to crash while exploring the islands or parks. It’s basic, clean and the beds are super comfortable. I would not stay here if you plan to hang out in the room or property because there is no where to go outside of the room and they are very cozy with small tvs. We did like the mini kitchen and privacy once in the room. If you are traveling with more than two people definitely get the suite. The check-in process is remote and has multiple steps. Some communications come via email and other via texts but once you figure everything out getting in the room on arrival is simple. I would stay here again when attending large events in the area.
My husband and I came for our anniversary weekend. We got married at Cedar Point, but wanted to find some other places and things to do in the area.
Anchor was a cute little place. When we first pulled in, the first thing I noticed were the beautiful (and real) flowers outside of each room. The property appears very nicely kept.
When we got into our room, it was so cute and very clean. That bed was so comfortable, I wanted to take it home. 😅 Check in and out was so incredibly easy. We saw the housekeepers when we left and they seemed so kind. Smiles on their faces. I would definitely come back!
A nice fire pit in the middle would make it a little better 😃
The room was extremely dirty. The property manager told me she broke her arm and had just gotten the cast off and she did not do a deep cleaning?? There were bugs everywhere. She stated that's because the property is close to the water. I informed her that I have a condo right on Lake Michigan and I keep certain things pesticides and natural remedies to maintain the mosquitoes and bugs around my property. You have to do it often in the summer months. The property is in good condition. Oh and there was a bird nest with baby birds in it so we could not enjoy the porch. It just not maintained well enough. I wished I would've just gotten a hotel room.
A comfortable, clean room in a quiet area in close proximity to nearby attractions. If that’s what you’re looking for, I highly recommend this property.
We’ve stayed at anchor inn two different times. It’s the perfect size for a family of four. Our recent visit to Cedar point, we stayed at a different resort and I wish we would have stayed at Anchor Bay Inn instead…
Nice little place- no frills but very clean and comfortable. Bed is a little soft for my taste but other than that it's a nice place to stay for an overnight.
The room was clean and very convenient to things in the area. I fished a tournament out of Sandusky and there was plenty of room for the truck/boat and electrical plugs to charge batteries
