Rooms small but nicely appointed. Everything you need, hairdryer, refrigerator, microwave. Attractive pool area. Just a old tired property typical of a 40-50 year old motel. Parking lot, grounds were clean but void of any decor to give it a more appealing look.

Unrelated to the Sandman itself but in the general surrounding area there are lots of homeless. I come to Santa Rosa for the Snoopy Hockey Tournament and the Sandman is clean, quiet and really convenient; close to the arena and a variety of eating options (Sam’s For Play cafe is great for breakfast). Golf, Russian River, and wineries are also close by.

Pool and hot tub were slimy. Noisy guests yelling after 10 pm until 3:00 am. Limited pool hours. I had contact with the front desk 3 times and a different employee was staffing the desk each time. They were all very unfriendly and unwelcoming, and none of them seemed to have the maturity to handle the job. I had to ask one of them, who was very pouty, "Are you OK?" and "Is there someone else on staff I can speak to?" Their response was, "Well, it's my first day back." Wut? Have some respect for your guests and teach your employees some hospitality skills.

Everything was pretty good. Nit picking, there are some things that could be better. AC is very noisey. Not enough outlets near the bed. TV channel selection is just bad. Not able to cast from my phone either.

You get what you pay for. Also, be careful at night. I noticed sex workers leaving the hotel. There were lots of spider webs in the room and food crumbs, and it was dirty in the room. I would not stay again.
