Be sure to see the sights while you are in Santiago. Start by visiting the the Presa La Boca.
Try not to limit yourself to Santiago; the wider region features a treasure trove natural and cultural attractions waiting to be explored. You'll also find Guadalupe, 19 miles (31 kilometers) to the south, and Santa Lucia Riverwalk 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the southeast.
When you are ready to venture further afield visit the nearest regional center. Monterrey is around 20 miles (32 kilometers) away and features sights like Museo Metropolitano de la Ciudad de Monterrey, Galerias Monterrey and Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey(ITESM). La Pinacoteca del Estado, Presa La Boca and KidZania Monterrey are other good spots to visit.
Explore Santiago's heavenly side by spending a little quiet time at the area's cathedrals and other holy sites. If the weather isn't that great, head to Nuevo Leon's craft workshops, art museums and art galleries.
Mix a little learning with leisure during your stay by joining one of the area's informative city walking tours and guided nature walks. Should you hear the call to adventure, follow the lead of active locals and spend the day hiking and abseiling.
