We arrived at 3:55pm. Person at reception desk was unfriendly, awkward, didn't seem to know info, but eventually checked us in. She asked for a credit card for incidentals. Before I used the one I did, I told her I wanted to use a gift card that I had to pay for the room. She said that they wouldn't use that card and that they wouldn't charge anything until we checked out (THEY CHARGED MY CARD BEFORE WE CHECKED OUT!). When we got to the room & opened the door, it wasn't ready, bed linens stripped, towels piled, etc. We went back down to the reception desk, she starred at me when I told her about the room, sighed and went to the computer. No apologies, just kept starring at the computer. Finally told us she would call housekeeping and it might be ready in 30-45 mins. We came back in hour, it wasn't ready, but she had changed us to a different room, but it wasn't the same type of room (downgraded), so we asked for what we had paid for. Again she sighed. She called housekeeping and talked to them (by what she was saying, we were a complete inconvenience). Finally got into the room in 15 minutes. This was such a strange ordeal. I expected way more from a Marriott property. I would not recommend this place because of these issues. We have NEVER had an issue like this at a hotel. What a crazy occurrence. I hope it was just a really, really, really bad day for the staff there.
