“There is a reason this house consistently gets reviews of 10 – it is because it deserves it! First, the views are awesome. Both from inside the house, and while in the large hot tub. Lots of sleeping space, lots of living space. Kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware. Property is exactly as described and as shown in the pictures. Excellent communication with the owner (Heiðrún).We had originally booked this house in 2020, but due to the pandemic we needed to cancel. We were very happy……

“If you like being out of the way Afternoon Cottages is a great jumping off point for adventuring. It is well equipped and very clean. It has a great price point and very basic. It worked great for us because it was simply a place to cook dinner and sleep. You have access to all the necessities about 25 minutes away in Hella. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.”

"The location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from the main street and supermarket, and very close to the bus stop which makes getting around really convenient. The room is spacious and the best part is the kitchen. Since restaurants in Iceland are expensive, it is great to have a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and all the utensils we need to cook every night. Breakfast is provided daily. It is not a buffet, but that is actually better as we can eat at our own pace and even save some for later. The hotel also leaves a bag of fresh bread in the afternoon, which is a lovely touch. The only small downside is that the extra bed is not very comfortable and lacks support. It might be a bit uncomfortable for a bigger person to sleep on."
