Come relax on the porch! This home is practically designed for coming together, starting with a wrap-around porch perfect for coffee and conversations. Enjoy views of the mountains as well as close views of the river - come at the right time of year and enjoy the view of the flowers blooming! The riverfront location is a wonderful feature of this home - enjoy some s'mores around the riverside firepit or launch your raft and/or inner tubes! That's right. You can start your rafting trip directly from the home, or start upstream and come ashore directly at the cabin.

Inside, the unique pale wood paneling sets a pleasant mood throughout the cabin. An open kitchen design means that the conversations don't have to stop while dinner is being prepared. Enjoy it at the breakfast bar or in the dining area - the comfortable family room isn't too far away. Use the private washer/dryer to take care of clothes from the day while everyone rests. The loft-style bedroom holds two twin beds, perfect for younger guests who may stay up all night talking. But there's plenty of space for everyone in your group to come relax by the river.

What's nearby:

For guests new to the area, Mountain Skillz (just over seven miles from the cabin) offers guided tours of the area as well as lessons on snowmobiling and how best to act during an avalanche. Of course, guests can enjoy Gold Medal Trout fishing all along the Rio Grande river.

Beautiful river views. Easy check-in. Our family owns a cabin down the road, so the location was perfect for our family reunion. Comfortable beds and the home is well equipped. This is my happy place, watching the river go by.

Unclean property & particular owners
The dishes in the kitchen were caked with prior food stuck to them (and a single wash wouldn’t remove it all). The old dishwasher was still full of dishes when we arrived and multiple surfaces in the cabin were dirty and in need of a clean. Also, the owner has some very particular “suggestions” on when you use the dishwasher and washer/dryer which means they want you to use them them during off peak hours only, which is 10-2 daily. They also have very strict guidance on how to heat the cabin (though we didn’t have to mess with that given the weather when we visited). They also ask you to water the lawn, which is also in need of a major mowing. The location was amazing but given all of these negatives, we won’t be booking here again.

Great location, but needs work!
First, the good points: -The location along the river is fantastic, and the view toward the rocks is stunning. -The house design is very nice, and this location has the potential to be a wonderful place to stay. The bad points (the property needs some work and TLC): -I wiped some water up from the kitchen floor and my paper towel came up very dirty, so I wonder when the floor was last cleaned. -The carpet could use replacing. -The shower doors in the master bath allowed copious water to leak onto the floor, no matter how we positioned the sliding doors. -The door screens are bent and left gaps for flies to get in. -The cookware needs to be replaced. -The porch furniture is not very comfortable. -Our stay started on a Sunday, and we were away from the house Monday (the day prior to garbage day). When we returned Monday evening, someone had moved our can out to the road, and they had filled it to overflowing with other peoples’ garbage. We were barely able to put our single bag of garbage in for the next day’s pickup. -After that pickup, as instructed, we put our garbage (in bags) in the can. The instructions about storing garbage recommend a lockable container or storing the garbage can indoors. Neither recommendation was an option for us since the garbage can was not lockable and the garage that the can set outside of was locked (we had no key). Our last night there (Saturday), something (we assume a bear) knocked over the can and spread garbage everywhere. Luckily, it only happened on our last night and we didn’t have to clean up every day. We suggest guests be allowed to put the can in the garage until the morning of garbage pickup.

Location great...property okay
Location on the river was amazing. Good for the hikes we wanted to do and then sitting on the deck reading and listening to the river. Had to wash cooking items taken out of cupboard before using (previous visitors mentioned having to clean too), no soap in showers (did not have cell reception at house so emailed Vacasa representative and no response), no Kleenex, information for the house and area located in binder were either missing or outdated. For the price (fees on VRBO are ridiculous) I expected more.

Gorgeous! Loved it!
What a beautiful cabin! We had plenty of room to spread out. Loved the deck and being on the river. The kids went tubing and we had a fire and s'mores. The stars were amazing. The location is also terrific. Drove over to see Great Sand Dunes National Park, and hiked the high dunes. We loved our stay and would definitely go back!!

Wonderful stay
We had a great stay at this home. It is right on the river and fairly secluded from town. The kitchen, bathrooms, and living areas were clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. There is no ice maker so grab a bag from the store, but the house had lots of other creature comforts. The location of this home is central to Pagosa, Creede, Alamosa, which provided a perfect jumping off point for our adventures. The home had more than enough space for me and my husband, and our 10 and 12 year old kids. I would definitely recommend family and friends to rent this home for a trip to Colorado.

We loved our time at the Riverfront Cabin! We enjoyed watching the mule deer walk across the frozen Rio Grande. Tons of birds to watch from the deck as well. Very relaxing environment & handy to town as well. We will definitely consider this cabin again for future visits!

Easy access to UTV riding and town
The only complaint I have is that the windows downstairs in the living areas do not open so it was warm during the day time. We left the screen doors open while we were there. Other than that, ample space for everyone!

Spacious yet cozy and warm!
Cozy and warm on a cold (-4 degree) winter’s night! Plenty of room to spread out for all 6 kids (loved having upstairs entertainment for the kids with ping pong, fuse ball, and old school Nintendo!). We loved the central location in South Fork, minutes to groceries, gas and ski shops yet close enough to nature to see a beautiful 10 point buck walk by the window. We spent 3 days at Wolf Creek skiing (25 quick and scenic minutes away) and loved coming “home” to a very relaxing and very accommodating place. Kitchen had all we needed to prepare and serve meals and the washer and dryer were very handy options to have to wash and dry all the week’s clothes. We’ll be back!

This cabin has everything. Just bring your food and yourselves. Well kept mountain home with everything you need, and an occasional visitor or two from the forest. Had a great Christmas experience with my girls and enjoyed it all. Property manager is easy to work with and provides all the information you need. Had an awesome time, thanks Darla.
