Good beach hotel.Posted Nov 23, 2015
Pros: Two surprises. The pleasant one: our room had a small refrigerator.
Cons: The unpleasant surprise: there was no free continental breakfast available, and the restaurant menu, not to mention the snack shop, was way overpriced
The hotel was an older hotel, one that has not had overly frequent renovation. Nevertheless, every important function one would expect of the room worked flawlessly. The A/C had a fan option for those, like me, who prefer a little background noise and a good thermostat. The room was clean and the partial view of the ocean from the balcony was great. The maids also honored Do Not Disturb signs and were not overly eager to gain access to the room as can happen in some hotels. The desk staff of only one to two persons depending on the time were overtasked, but not ridiculously so, and helpful nonetheless with recommendations about local restaurants and events. They just made it clear by their manner they didn't really care to have a conversation with you. Obi's, a nice burger joint 7/10 of a mile to the north and on the beach side of the road had a great breakfast menu at a better price than the hotel's, and the friendliest, chattiest wait staff ever! Recommend breakfast there instead. All in all, I would go back here if in Saint Augustine again. It's a good value for the money and the beach location can't be beat!

Close to the beach and convenient.Posted Nov 16, 2015
Pros: Location on the ocean
Cons: We stayed overnight and left early the next day, so I couldn't recommend any changes
Location: Location is superb....it is close to some really neat bars and restaurants . I would recommend Salt Life for a beach experience-Zaharias for breakfast
We met some friends from Dallas who had never been to St Augustine and spent the entire day in the Old City. We were referred to Holiday Isle by a friend who lived there and were very pleased with the stay. The room was clean and the beds comfortable so it was a good experience. The wind was howling when we arrived so we didn't get out to the beach, but the location is terrific and it would be a great location if you were "beaching it " for a few days. I would stay there again.

Pleasant SurprisePosted Nov 14, 2015
Pros: The overall value, clean rooms and grounds.
Cons: It was all good. They did a great job. The place is well maintained.
Location: It is near the putt putt golf course and pier. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance...very safe and well maintained.
We were very happy with our stay here. The Grounds were nice, staff friendly and overall we could not find anything bad to say. We had read a few reviews before we got there and were hoping for the best. I"ve stayed all over St Augustine in the past and this was my best visit because of this hotel. We had a very good breakfast in the café, enjoyed the pool area and beach. Our room was very nice, clean and everything worked as it should. This was a great deal for the price. When we return I will stay here again.

Little Gem on the BeachPosted Nov 14, 2015
Pros: Super close beach access, free upgrade!
Cons: A little upgrade would be nice, and that sign is horrible to find.
Location: Anastasia Island and historic downtown St. Augustine. Need I say more? Also a quick drive to Jacksonville and not far from Daytona.
You get what you pay for. This isn't some five star resort. That being said, for our three night stay and the very low price we paid, this resort was fantastic. We're already talking about going back! A friend and I chose this because it was on the Old Town Trolley route, close to historic downtown, and near the beach. And by near it, I mean private access. We were upgraded on arrival to a partial view room, it's conveniently located to food and shopping, and we were in historic St. Augustine within 15 minutes. My only complaints were that it was a little musty. The elevator shakes badly the higher you go and we were on the top floor. And there had clearly been a dog in our room prior as the smell was still lingering and we found a flea (honestly, only a single flea, hardly a trip ruiner). OH and the place is miserable to find at night. They really need a light on the sign. Also, one day housekeeping was on their game and one day it was a bit lacking. But overall, considering the great rate, it was an awesome stay.

nice location, but hotel was datedPosted Nov 9, 2015
Cons: amenities (towels, etc.) needed to be replaced as they were worn; rooms needed updating
Location: close to the beach
The hotel was in need of updating, and the beds were not very comfortable. The location was great, as we were a short distance from the beach.

A bit of "Old Florida".Posted Nov 6, 2015
Cons: Telling you that the "pet friendly" rooms have no blankets. Makes absolutely no sense. Apparently you have to ask. I found out too late.
Location: The beach. Good restaurants with a large variety of types of foods.
I've stayed here in the past and would do so again. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms are quiet and the cable TV channel selection is pretty extensive. There is a lovely beach and a very nice pool and deck. It also has very a clean and large laundry room. When I get to this hotel I've usually been traveling for three days, so that a nice plus.
