The pool is harder to get into than Fort Knox. When you first arrive at the pool, you’re greeted by a group of about 8 wanna-be Navy SEAL officers. If you’re lucky enough that they deem your attire acceptable for entry, you then have to provide your ID, room card, bag rummaged through, and a full criminal background check. Though, the guy with the rubber glove is surprisingly gentle. Nothing says “Family Fun” like making your way through the Flamingo DMZ. Other highlights: The shower doesnt have a door so you get a nice 1" pond of water on your bathroom floor after every shower. House keeping never came, so I had a nice pile of sopping wet towels on the floor of my bathroom for my entire stay (from cleaning up after each shower) Nothing Works: Vending machine: doesn’t work. Ice machine: doesn’t work Room safe: doesn’t work. Mini fridge: doesn’t work. At one point my dad’s room key stopped working and when he went to the front desk for help, the lady treated him like an old man trying to return soup at a deli. To sum up the Flamingo: I'd rather go to the dentist.

The only thing I didn't like about the room was the shower. It didn't have a fully enclosed shower, only had half covered so I splashed water on the floor near the toilet. The showerhead was one of those hand held ones and couldn't be situated high on the wall. The water pressure could have been a lot stronger as well. Apart from that everything was great. I enjoyed the casino, stores, restaurants, and food hall. The blackjack dealers were really fun, especially Evan. We had a good time with him, even if he did take all my money! I would definitely stay at the Rio in the future, and I would recommend it to family and friends who wouldn't mind staying off strip. Thanks for everything.
