This 15,781-foot (4,810-meter) playground for thrill-seekers attracts visitors for extreme skiing, ice climbing, paragliding and other exhilarating activities. For something a little more low-key, relax in sophisticated Chamonix, a base town for activities around Mont Blanc. 2. Les Arcs

Les Arcs caters to the more experienced crowd with the majority of trails being at the intermediate or expert level, so beginners will benefit from the extra access while still enjoying the Les Arcs ski accommodations. Lift tickets for the resort’s 61 lifts are available at regular prices, but there is a discount for families. Deals on tickets for groups and Paradiski ski resort combinations are also sold throughout the season, many of which include rentals.
