5. Blue Spring State Park

Florida’s Blue Spring State Park is a success story for the proliferation of manatees, also known as sea cows. Just prior to the park’s establishment in the 1970s, 14 manatees were counted in Blue Spring Run. More recently, that number has expanded to over 500 when the annual migration occurs to this section of St. Johns River.
