When I booked this, I didn’t know that this hotel was owned by scientologists who actively push their beliefs through literature in the rooms, a ‘newspaper’ in reception and symbols on the walls. I discovered all of this once I had paid in full for my room at the start of the holiday. Even more worrying was the fact that not one member of staff wore a mask at any point during our trip. Even in the restaurant. Their newspaper has the headline ‘what pandemic?’ and contained articles claiming Covid was just Vitamin B12 deficiency. For someone who nearly had to be hospitalised from Covid last year and actually understands science, this made for very interesting reading, I can tell you. I am amazed that Expedia allows this place to be listed and even more amazed the hotel has not been investigated for their covid practices. The room itself was one of the so-called refurbished ones but the refurbishment is only surface level. The management need to understand that the first thing people do when they walk in a room is look down and when you do, you see this worn, ill fitting carpet. The second thing they do is look out the window at the view and when you do, you see a half wall, blocking the view, covered in bird excrement. By the time you get to the refurbed bathroom, the first impressions have stuck. My advice to the management is the first law of branding: put the customer first.
