Lovely friendly hotel

Unfortunately this hotel is due to close down . We have stayed here on a regular basis as I have been studying at the nearby Hadlow college. Very friendly staff and always a comfortable stay with a lovely breakfast. Such a shame it is closing

Very clean and tidy hotel, friendly staff and good standard of food. Decent breakfast, restaurant prices are reasonable with a good choice of three, two or one course evening dinners. My standard double room overlooked the lovely rear garden, which was closer to the size of a paddock or field. An overall very happy stay that I would recommend to anyone.

Good hotel

It was quite a late check-in but checking went very smoothly the room was a good sized it was warm comfortable quiet the shower was hot and the towels were have a good standard my only complaint would be that the door had to be slammed to close it which at night-time was EXTREMELY Loud

We would come again!

A lovely countryside setting, but near to Hadlow village and Tonbridge for shopping. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and evening meals. Roomy accommodation with good sized en suite with bath and shower (although the shower was a little difficult to adjust to the right temperature). Tea & coffee making equipment provided. Our only 'gripe' was there was only one bedside table but we improvised by moving the occasional table.

Comfortable two-night stay

We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a music concert at the nearby Hop Farm, which was extremely convenient being only about 10 minutes drive away. We booked a wheelchair accessible room on the ground floor, which worked out very well for us. There was plenty of space to manoeuvre around and generally the facilities were good. We were warned on checking in that being in a ground floor room, we might hear some music from weekend events at the Hotel but we actually couldn't hear the music, so no problems at all (it wouldn't have bothered us anyway). An attractive building in a nice setting with plenty of free on-site parking.

OK, but needs a makeover.

This hotel needs a serious makeover. Bedrooms (old brown furniture) and outdated bathrooms with poor plumbing mean the shower facilities are almost non existent. Such a shame, I can see why it marketed more at weddings and events with perhaps a single overnight stay. With some money spending on it, this could be a fabulous hotel perhaps spa facilities?

Reception miserable and looked bored to be there, made a comment on my arrival. Very tired and dated decoration with peeling wallpaper. Grout falling out of tiles which stuck to your feet when using the bathroom. Banging pipework and/or generator all night and staff noting the noise on their early start (along with their night with their girlfriend). Hairs and dirt on the floor. Nothing explained about the property or services on arrival. No offer of help, particularly as I was limping with damage to my knee and calf and there is no lift. I couldn't wait to leave and go home to have a bath and get some sleep in a clean room.

Toilet didnt flush properly. Breakfast was dossapointing, dirty cutlery, long wai for service and all the buffet trays were either empty or had been cleared away at 9.45 although breakfast service was until 10am all dissapointing

My stay at the hotel didn’t happen. A combination of various incompetences and weak management made the parking attendants at the Hop Farm at best ineffectual. Thousands of people were stuck for hours in the carpark unable to leave. Not good.

Truly one of the best nights away in a very long time. So quiet and peaceful!! We stayed on a Tuesday so no weekend revellers so that was good.

I was told that there were events when I arrived so it was room service only, which suited me. My room was dirty, there were remnants of food on the carpet and labels from clothes left by previous guests. While the bed was clean there were stains on the sheet. Room service was prompt and the reception ladies were extremely pleasant. My wine glass was covered in lipstick and the tray that had my food on was filthy. My assumption would be, even if hotels have struggled to update, that they would at least be clean. Oh, finally there was water seeping through the bathroom ceiling.

Dirty, cold and unpleasant

The room was very dirty. Floor had not been cleaned as there was dirt around it. The room we stayed in was very dated with old furnitures that really could do with sole care. Carpets are filthy, need changing. Walls had cracks and paper peeling off. Ugly curtains that had dust coming off them by the touch. Bathroom had mould around some areas and you can tell didn't get cleaned properly. We had a long trip ahead so I thought we would unpack and come speak to someone else to change rooms. Once we got back to the hotel there was no one at the reception. Went to the room to call the reception but the rooms phone didn't work. The heating turned off and our room was freezing! Had a 7 month baby with a cold. Plus the water was cold so we couldn't have a wash. So I paid a lot of money for a crap room where I couldn't use the facilities and froze all night so we didn't get any sleep.
