The location was great; on the water, very good Chinese restaurant right by the hotel, and just minutes away from shops and In-N-Out ,about 15 minutes away from Oakland International Airport, and in a safe area. Staff very helpful. There was a scratch mark on the inside of the bathroom door, and a blue scratch mark about 6 inches long (I am guessing the paint from underneath). The shower door stuck at the bottom, so it was really hard to open and I was afraid I’d break the glass. They were out of coffee, and the complimentary breakfast is a choice of pastries and breakfast bars. Pictures of the property were misleading, as it looked like indoor access, which is what I wanted, but this was not the case. Crazy thing is that I would stay there again for the location, convenience and safety.

This property had a double-booking issue. When we arrived on September 7, other guests were already staying in the house, and they showed us their valid Expedia booking until September 13. We attempted to contact the host via calls and messages, but received no response at all. We reached out to Expedia customer service immediately, yet the situation was not resolved. We were forced to book a new hotel last minute, which brought unexpected extra costs. In the end, Expedia did not provide any compensation. I am very disappointed with the handling of this incident. Anyone considering booking this place should prepare for the worst-case scenario.

I found for the price there were a few disappointments. The server we had in the restaurant (the “famous” one by the lobby entrance) was quite disorganized, getting much of our order wrong or just not listening. The room for the price was way over priced. Crappy view on top of the air conditioning ducts outside our window. TV was way too small for how far the bed was from the screen. No late checkout!!! Though in the end they did give us a half hour. When you check in at 5:00 (4:00 check in) and you have to be out by 11 am is a bit of a rip off. We stay in many luxury hotels and I was not impressed. Probably if I had paid for a suite it would have been more impressive. Not sure I’d stay again and with my daughter living in Oakland there are many opportunities to stay there.
