A lovely and quiet place. Small kitchen but provide enough things. It's close to volcano park so we went twice -- first night for crater in jagger museum and second day for hike. Unfortunately it was rainy night so sound little noisy. Remember bring earplugs if you stay in cottage 44 too and know it will be rainy. The staff were exceptionally courteous, welcoming us with genuine warmth and making sure every detail of our stay was just right. The property itself is quiet, peaceful, and homey, surrounded by the lush beauty of the Volcano area — a true escape from the noise of everyday life. Breakfast was a highlight in the morning — the banana pancakes were simply amazing, and the fresh local fruit made it even better. We also enjoyed a bottle of the Volcano Pinot Noir, which was spectacular and paired beautifully with the relaxing ambiance. After a day of exploring the park, the hot tub was pure bliss — clean, private, and the perfect way to unwind under the stars. Every aspect of our stay was thoughtfully designed and perfectly executed. In short: everything was perfect. Since new ownership they have added new bungalows but have not maintained the condition of the older rooms. (At least not the one I stayed in). Housekeeping was also lacking. When I checked in there was no hand soap in the bathroom, no wash clothes and no bath soap in the shower, (they ran out). Also, when they cleaned the room they did not empty the bathroom trash, refill the creamer and left a book on the floor. (I use to work in Kalapana as a housekeeper pick up the damn book and put it on the end table). I love this place and will be back. I was sad that the place wasn't as well taken care of as when Michael owned it (breakfast use to be included) and Dixon's head stone has been removed. For returning customers it's important that the integrity of this place remains intact, but like everything else, when corporations take over its all about money. The bungalow had little special extras like a heated towel rack and heated floors in the bathroom. Enjoyed the plush robes and fresh Hawaiian coffee each day. Town of Volcano is so quiet and layed back.
