“Modern hotel on the outskirts of Bologna. You would need a car but this hotel has safe, free parking and is just a few minutes' from the airport. (There are no obvious petrol stations at the airport so fill up the night before if you have booked full to full.) It was a modern, clean room with a 'minibar' type fridge and range of toiletries. They changed the sheets each day. I did book in advance but it cost about £70 for 2 nights B&B for 2 in a double room. Breakfast was very good, help yourself……

“It is next to the motorway but that didn't stop us sleeping. It is very basic but clean and friendly. We had a room at the top. Initially we are given an upgrade to a room with a sauna but someone had been smoking in it. "It’s a nice old-school hotel which is centrally located between the train station and the old town so ticked all boxes for us. Room was well appointed and dark when it mattered, bed was comfortable and A/C worked well. Only negative is that the mini bar was filled with items that auto charge to your account once you move them, so you can’t fit much of your own personal items in the fridge."
