The hotel itself was beautiful, very grand as stated in the name. The staff were ever so helpful and very attentive. The room had a few cobwebs near the radiator and window in the room but other than that the room was clean. Very hospitable and welcoming staff, would definitely stay here again! Intercontinental breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed the indoor swimming pool, sauna/steam room.

I was given a room on the top floor. It was very comfortable and had everything I needed. As someone who works from their hotel room the desk arrangement isn’t ideally suited to that but I made it work. The restaurant was fabulous food and drinks and clearly was a destination spot for locals which meant there was a really buzzy atmosphere. There was also a wet bag in the room for those who swim in the river but I used it for my gym gear. Tea and coffee facilities are outside the room on the landing which was a bit quirky but nonetheless was a great facility. The staff throughout were excellent and the whole atmosphere was of a place where people enjoyed working. I was visiting Barfüsserplatz for work so the hotel is not right in the centre but a 10 min walk up/down an incline past all the lovely shops. A big supermarket just nearby. Really enjoyable stay and no doubt will go back.

Location was amazing! Staff very welcoming and friendly and the free travel pass and discounts on attractions was awesome! So easy to hop on the tram and head to Old Town Basel! The room was IMMACULATE! Beds were a bit close together but they were incredibly comfortable; the mattress, pillows and covers were so luxurious feeling. Again everything was so clean. Really enjoyed our visit and stay here again!
