Lovely 1792 farmhouse in historic New England Village. Our house by Butternut Brook is great for a group of friends or family attending a wedding or graduation in the area. You can enjoy the house all seasons. It is fabulous for a great getaway for 2 or more.

Sleeps 8 people in 4 private bedrooms, 2 with private master baths and 2 bedrooms with shared bathroom. Accommodates up to 10 people with aero bed and prior approval.
The first floor consists of a well stocked kitchen with a 3 season porch and the kitchen is open to the den and dining area. There is also a second living room area with comfortable furnishings which is great for quiet privacy. There is a third living room. A half bathroom and laundry room are also on the first floor.
There is a queen bedroom with master bath with tub/shower on the 1st floor. There are 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The master suite has a king sized bed and a walk in shower and a TV. There is a small room off the master with a crib if needed. The other 2 bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower. One bedroom offers 2 twins and the other has a double. Each bedroom has luxury linens and offer great views of cornfield and hills.

There is great outdoor space. One side of the house has an open large green yard. Off the driveway is a patio with seating and grilling. You can hear Butternut Brook from the patio.

Walpole is a beautiful town with a village green. There is a world famous chocolate shop and a good range of restaurants within walking distance. It is a year round destination.

There are 2 designated parking spaces. Additional parking is available, please let us know if needed. Please park in the first 2 parking spaces on the left. There are 3 very private and quiet tenants in the carriage house that also park in the driveway.

Wonderful house for gathering as a small family - to sit or explore
We had a small family gathering at the house which served as a home-base for re-exploring and reconnecting with an area we grew up enjoying. The location is fantastic for reaching each area of New Hampshire and Vermont. Access to the highway is very close and the proximity to the surrounding towns and villages means you can have your getaway away and still enjoy what each has to offer. The house itself is wonderful for a family or group who wants to be together but needs to spread out or have some space to themselves for a bit of each day. The rooms are comfortable, well-proportioned and spaced for everyone to feel they have their own oasis within the house. We found multiple areas that were comfortable for reading away half the day. Communication with Karen and Jon was excellent. We also appreciated meeting Karen, who happen to be in the area, and who was very sweet. For us and our situation, the house was a perfect fit. We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our time at the house and would rent again next time we come back to the area.

We had a great wedding weekend thanks to this property. The building had so many rooms which made getting hair and makeup done so easy! It was great to have the bridal party all together in one space. Also, it was so easy to check in and out and parking was a breeze! Great to be so close to Alyson's Orchard.

Our extended family had a perfectly comfortable stay in this lovely home! Comfortable beds and linens, plenty of space for everyone to spread out and so close to pretty Walpole. It was our second stay at this house, and we will definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

We stayed 3 nights for a graduation. Their lovely restored farmhouse was hard to leave. Could spend a season there. Clean and so comfortable. Spacious but loved gathering in one room each night. Hope to come through again.

Great spot on a quiet road close to just about everything. We had 2 little ones with us, and the property was a bit tricky with them due to steep stairs and lots of antiques around that are breakable. While tricky to navigate, we managed! They had a wonderful crib and books set up for our littlest member which was so very helpful!

On the outskirts of Walpole, a characterful little town with a surprisingly good little grocery, restaurant and of course the famous chocolate shop and tea room, this house is comfortable, furnished with antiques and has enough space for a group of family or friends.

Perfection!!
For a history lover this house was perfect! All the charm of an old farmhouse but with modern conveniences (gorgeous bathrooms). Absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. We've rented many houses over the years but this house literally had everything. There was not a meal we could think of that we could not make! We even had a turkey dinner!!! This was especially appreciated this year during the COVID pandemic! My family and I had an amazing and relaxing time playing in the snow and with all the games and puzzles the house came with! I'd move into this house in a heart beat!! Walpole is beyond charming! We just drove around a bit (because of the pandemic) but hope to visit again when life returns to normal! Owners were friendly and helpful!

Beautiful Historic Home
My friend and I had a magnificent holiday with this lovely historic house as our home base. The two master bedrooms were lovely, as were the delightful living areas on the lower level. The grounds were immaculate, with lush green grass and gorgeous autumn leaves both on & under the trees. Our hosts came up overnight and left the sweetest birthday surprise for me ~ they are truly amazing people. If you’ve the opportunity, I highly recommend staying here; I know I’ll be looking to do so the next time I’m in the area.

A great find and location to enjoy the surrounding areas.
Perfect in every way. Beautiful home , clean as can be, large and can be enjoyed by a small or larger family/group. We chose this for many reasons, but mainly to away from any tourist areas. The 5 star gourmet local restaurant, chocolate confectioners and corner gourmet market was perfect for us. The other local restaurants were spot on as well. The scenery was beautiful and we did some other traveling to MA,CT,VT and NH. Everything was close and the interstate I-91 was right around the corner. The locals were warm and friendly and our guests want to return again on a future trip. The house was one of the best we ever stayed in on Vrbo. I enjoyed the great kitchen and 65 in flat screen TV when relaxing. Great in every way. The bird feeder on the window was a joy to see the little birds come feed while we had our our morning coffee. The hosts were great and we certainly want to return next year for our fall fun. Not 1 thing wrong with this amazing 1792 beautiful home and location. Thank you so mush for making our fall trip so amazing.

Perfect country escape
Our family of four loved our stay at this historic home! There is lots of room for lounging and spreading out. We loved its proximity to Walpole (such a pretty town)—an easy walk from the house. The owners provided things like dish soap and foil, etc, making it very easy to move in and feel at home without having to buy lots of supplies (as one must at many vacation rentals). The owners were also very responsive when a storm caused a brief power failure. The many bird feeders around the house were much appreciated by this bird-loving family! Would definitely stay at this lovely home again. Thank you!

Dream House
This farmhouse couldn’t be more perfect. We felt like we had stepped into a classic New England Christmas movie. The little town of Walpole is in walking distance and is so lovely. I’d say this place was so much more than I expected. A++++

Good spot for a family gathering
Very nice location with lots of room for seven of us. Walpole is a reminder of the good life we once new as kids. Large common areas and two master bedrooms are nice touch and dining area is fantastic. Kitchen oven is just a single wall oven and renters need to be aware of this as we were doing Thanksgiving dinner and still managed due to parts of the meal being previously done. We would bring a large griddle on the next trip and our own pillows. Thanks for the hospitality.

Great house for a family to relax and get away from it all.
This large house provides all of the comforts of home combined with antique decor and a charm from the past when life was simple. Plenty of room for the whole family and more. Everything we could have possibly needed was already in the home, allowing us to settle in and enjoy the experience instead of worrying about a trip to the store. The fresh apple pie from the local farm was a really nice touch. The owners were there working on another property and they were the nicest people you could ever meet.
