“Great old building in design and common area furnishings are appropriate with plenty of character. As for the room: Sure, the building is old and one doesn't expect a big room, but ours was too small; there was about one foot of space on two sides of the bed. Space to leave one suitcase open, but not two. Bathroom was small, as was the sink. The major problem in the room, though, was the owner's insistence on a period bed that required one to pole vault into it. There was a two-step stair left……

The house, which used to be owned by a wealthy family -- hense the name -- has been lovingly restored by its current owners. I booked due to the pictures, in real life, the attention to detail is even better. The tile, woodwork and period furniture are exquisite. So is the garden! The owner was very friendly and talkative!
