Beautiful old buildings. Was VERY cold. They did have a space heater in the room. It is going to be renovated this year and it needs it. Miss the previous ownership's awesome breakfast.

Charming historic buildings in a quiet neighborhood. Main lobby common room is a very inviting & comfortable space to relax. Staff was friendly & helpful with information. Delicious breakfast with a variety of offerings. Floors are creaky and walls thin since buildings are old, so can be a bit noisy when other guests are moving around. Great place to stay outside of busy downtown.

Nice size room. Comfortable beds. Dingy carpet. No refrigerator. No ice bucket. No hangers in the closet (was resolved) and no wine key. If you bring wine be sure to have an opener. It's a charming old building but could use an update or two. Complimentary coffee and pastries are a nice touch. Overall experience 8/10

The room clean and in great condition but to get there required that we haul our luggage up a narrow stairway to the 3rd floor. The staff was not welcoming and did not seem very interested in our welfare. The Ferry Inn was more like an AirBNB than an Inn.

Overall all a good experience: beautiful property in a centralized location. I dealt with a pushy, rude employee (I think she was a manager) who aggressively try to persuade me against booking on Hotels.com, even as Hotel.com quoted me a price that $50 a night lower. Otherwise, the staff I met at the property in-person were kind and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, but the carpet and some of the furniture seemed a little worn and perhaps should be replaced. Not a big deal.

Service was very friendly but they no longer have the concierge van service to the nearby attractions. That's why we like to stay there. The rooms are quiet so that's a plus. I am allergic to lemongrass and that was the only scent they had for all the soap products. An unscented option would be great for special needs. The bathroom walls were filthy around the sink and there was no extra toilet paper. It was almoat gone when we arrived and the back up was in the closet out in the main room. Last thing i want to do is change toilet paper or not have any in the moment.

My wife and I travelled to Detroit to see Matt Rife perform. We found the Inn during our online search for accommodation. It lived up to its' reviews as the building(s) are beautiful and full of rich architecture. The check in experience was very efficient but I believe it was aided by the email the Inn sent ahead of time to 'pre-check-in'. Accessing the room was simple and our entire stay, we never heard any noises from other tenants. There were three rooms on each floor of the house we stayed in so the privacy was an unexpected bonus. In terms of the bed, it was acceptable however my wife's side had a noticeable dip but that didnt affect our sleep. The chair in the room on the other hand was likely the most comfortable chair ive found at a hotel. It is conveniently located to Downtown Detroit and i was thoroughly impressed throughout the entire stay. Breakfast was as expected. It was continental and it offered plenty of variety. Service was great throughout and i strongly endorse staying!

We booked this in August for the late December. One of the amenities we look for is a free continental breakfast, which this place had and was highly rated. We received an email FOUR days before check in stating that they are no longer serving breakfast. Not giving us enough time to find somewhere else to stay without paying a fortune. Pros: -Every member of the staff we interacted with was really nice! -Room was a comfortable temperature and stayed that way during the duration of our stay. -Water cooler in entryway that can do hot or cold. Plus a Keurig. -Great water pressure as long as you're an early bird. Otherwise the water pressure and temperature fluctuates by quite a bit. -Great location! 10-15 minutes (at most) away from a majority of the places we visited. -Quiet street, little to no road noise with only rare sirens being heard. Cons: -The house we stayed in did not have a door directly from the parking lot. You had to walk with all your luggage up the side of the house and use a walkway to get to the front door. The walkaway to the house we stayed in wasn't a solid path and was very uneven. -Stains on the carpet everywhere. -The room we stayed in was on the 1st floor and directly to the right as soon as you stepped in to the entry way. The crack under the double doors to our room is huge. -Noise carries throughout the building. -The mattress was uneven and very soft. -Only one outlet could hold a standard phone charger.

Convenient walking distance to the DIA. Desk folks were pleasant. Room has a nice and warm space heater. There were pastries/muffins (so-so) on Sunday morning. We headed down to Eastern Market to Farmer Franks for breakfast.
Windon on stairs to our room. Property is made up of four separate houses and the carriage house (arch photo)
