"Stonecross is a lovely old manor house that has been well restored. Quite often these old buildings fall into disrepair because of cost, but my wife and I felt it was really well presented. Stonecross is located close to the M6 but a short drive from The Yorkshire Dales or Lakes. The lobby is spacious and classy feeling with the tickle of piano music in the background. There is parking for around 10 cars with EV charging for three or four. The charging is provided externally by enozzle. 32 rooms are available but the place was quiet. The standard room was bright clean and comfortable with bath and shower. The food is excellent. There is a small but well designed menu for evening meal and drinks are not overpriced. Two alcoholic drinks cost is £12. We had a lovely stay for our anniversary and i would strongly recommend."

"Lovely pet friendly accommodation. Everything was clean and comfortable. Local to loads of different walks and amenities. Couldn't fault anything with the property, the BBQ and pizza oven were an added bonus. Wonderful for a weekend away to explore the Lakes. "

"What a wonderful place! Directions and key instructions were spot on. The cottage was even better than expected, with great living accommodation and facilities. We were greeted with a bottle of Prosecco, pint of milk, and a few other essentials to help us settle in (very much appreciated - thank you). The staircase with its huge clock is a sight to behold; and the enormous bed reminded us of the one John Denver sang about! The bathroom was well laid out with plenty of space and a large shower; and the washing machine & drier came in handy too. All in all, a perfect place - highly recommended :-) "

"Travelling with 4 year old daughter, very good stay, stayed for one night to visit family in Kendal, less than 10 mins drive away, large comfortable room, clean and nicely presented, good sized bed and comfortable, shared bed with daughter, large room was unexpected and ideal for her to play, smart decor throughout, didn't eat in bar so can't comment of food but the continental breakfast included although fairly basic was decent and a good selection of options (cooked breakfast you needed to order and separate charge). Small play park outside was also very nice. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. "
