And our twin room was very comfortable - very comfy beds and excellent shower en-suite. Very nice touches in lots of ways. “Lovely hotel ,good sized room ,very quiet ,excellent facilities. Great TV with extra chanels like netflix,YouTube, iplayer . Loved the outside bit ,even in winter it was nice to sit outside as the view was stunning. Plenty of tea/coffee and fresh biscuits every day . Huge clean towels ,very warm and cosy . Breakfast was amazing, loads of choice and delicious food . We had an evening meal on the first night which was also outstanding. The staff went out of their way to please you . The only……

“From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north.”

“I stayed at the Tavern for one night Monday 6/10/25 prior to attending a funeral. I had read previous reviews criticising road noise. Whilst it was heard,I didn’t find it an issue at all. Had a good nights sleep in a comfy bed. Superb bathroom- i loved the large soaker tub- hard to find a room with bath these days. Staff were very friendly and food was hot and tasty with portions on the large side! Would definitely stay here again.”
