The Lodge: Five blocks from Old Town and close to Intrust Arena

Our house has three bedrooms, one on the main floor and two upstairs. There are a total of 2 bathrooms. There is a full kitchen, large eating area, and a main floor family room. The entire place is decorated in a Hunting Lodge motif. You will feel comfortable in this relaxed environment.

As mentioned in the title, we are walking distance to Old Town restaurants and bars and also close to Intrust Arena. We are equally close to St. Francis and Wesley Hospitals and an easy drive to Wichita State University.

There are two other apartments on the premises that have their own access and entrance. Your space, however, is totally your own.

Family fun for Thanksgiving
We were looking for a space that was centrally located for family who lives in the Wichita area, that could comfortably sleep my family and my sister's family (6 total), as well as host a Thanksgiving dinner for over 16 people. This place was perfect. It had 4 bedrooms, 2 dens with comfy couches/lounge chairs and tvs, 2 full kitchens, 2 dining tables and 3 bathrooms, so there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The furnace worked great, for a large house it was surprisingly comfortable. The water was hot for showers and dishes, everything was clean and well stocked. We didn't have to ask for anything. The dart board and foos table were the highlight of Thanksgiving, and we had a fun tournament. The host was wonderful and responsive to all inquiries. We had a small mishap with a dish that was provided by the VRBO, and he was very gracious about the incident and did not require any extra payment or replacement. There was a snowstorm the night before we had to leave, and the host shoveled the walkway before we were set to pack up and leave. Overall, we were all very pleased with this home and host, and if we are in the area again, we will be requesting to stay here. Highly recommend.

The property is very spacious. The host is very accommodating to any issue that may arise. We only had 2 issues and they were there within a half hour and fixed them. Should we come this way again, I would stay there. We had a great time.

Definitely would book again
We went there for a Father’s Day golf weekend. The place was perfect for the four of us. Close to old town restaurants. Nice lounging area where we relaxed after our round of golf to sit and watch the US Open. Just one minor detail - Stove was missing a burner. But all in all it was great to stay!

You don't always get what you pay for
We travel with dogs, which is the biggest reason we chose this place for our stay. As it turns out, the "yard" is shared with another apartment tenant who also has a dog. Not ideal for what we were looking for. The landlord lives two doors down, so you're definitely being watched the entire time you're there. I personally don't like being confronted in the front yard immediately upon arrival. He was quick to respond to texts, so I'll give him that. The house itself was dirty, like it had not been cleaned in a while. Plaster was falling off the ceiling in two bedrooms, directly above the beds - a definite safety issue The whole house smells musty. I get it, it's an old house, but not my cup of tea. We rented this house for 4 nights, but left to find another rental after being here for 30 minutes. So in this case, we did not use what we paid for.

This is a great property for a family, especially a larger family to stay. We enjoyed the cabin feel and the layout is wonderful. The rec area, living, and dining area are open and it is great for entertaining. We would stay here again!

My daughter wanted me to make sure to comment on the great quality of the toilet paper! We are frequency VRBO and AirBNB users and appreciate the little things! Definitely worth the money and location was great for us as it was central.

The property is great! So much space. We had 12 people in there at one time and still had plenty of space! Gary was so sweet and checked on us in the middle of our stay! We made great memories for this Christmas and look forward to renting it again in the future!

Perfect for a large family or many friends.
We came with friends for a short weekend. It was a perfect location, great price and very comfortable. Lots of room nicely decorated and very clean. A tad noisy wish the street near by and a railroad line in close proximity but otherwise great.

Grandma's Weekend
The house was lovely; it was warm and welcoming. We were able to walk to most of the restaurants and activities that we were wanting to see. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit "Old Town" Wichita.

Gary is a great host. He was there when we pulled up to check in and gave us a proper tour. When I asked for anything he was there. He even recommended a mechanic for my vehicle A/C repair and they did a great job. The house is huge! There were 9 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out. The ping pong table, foosball table, and dart board kept the kids busy for hours. The kitchen had pretty much everything you would need, and I cook a lot. The kitchen is also huge compared to my own. The coffee was a much appreciated extra! The house could use a deep clean because it was a bit dusty. My only real complaint although it was completely out of our hosts hands, would be the gunshots that I heard at around 1:50 a.m. on the first night we stayed there. Thanks to God none of us were hurt, but it still scared me to death. The rest of the time we were there we had no problems. We think it was at a party I few houses down. Gary said they never had any issues before so we stayed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this home for a family vacation. We found lots to do around also. We went to an escape room, exploration center, and a small water park. All were fun. Thanks Gary!

Property is exactly as described. Is very spacious - we loved the game room and dining room for gathering. Location was good for proximity to any activity in the Old Town area. Communication with owner was excellent, Gary went above and beyond and made sure we had everything that was needed. It’s not a 5 star resort - and never claimed to be - but is a great spot for a group/family staying in the area.
