I don’t want to be a bore about the Boar, but this was a special little haven in the woods. Stunning location, lovely bedrooms, excellent food, friendly staff. Treat yourself!
Stunning hotel and grounds. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Bar and restaurant are lovely and the breakfast was delicious. The best part for me was the walk through the woods. Truly magical and so peaceful. Staff were very helpful!
No aircon in the room which was a shame since we came at a really hot time however they did provide a fan which worked well.
Excellent room with all facilities clean and working. Staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant staff.
High quality everything, the food is exceptional!

Disliked: Amenities
Very dissapointing stay. Rooms were tired, food was below par with us not enjoying our meal at all. As a resident we struggled to find anywhere to sit in the bar as the bar/lounge was full of people visiting to eat food. Kept up all night by dogs barking so didn't sleep well. Had to wait for 20 minutes one morning at breakfast before we were given a menu or asked if we wanted a tea or coffee and only provided after we prompted the staff. Only plus was that generally the staff were nice and attentive on other occasions.

Friendly staff, delicious food and great location. Hotel is a little run down but good value for money.
Lovely hotel, quaint & quirky, with low ceilings in places but not an issue. Pets were welcome. We had breakfast included and it was delicious, everything you needed. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom looked to be newly renovated.

This hotel outside appearance is uninspiring, however inside the bar & restaurant it is welcoming with a roaring fire lovely on a very cold day.
Food is excellent, particularly the breakfast, with an interesting assortment.
Our room was a good size & thankfully near the car park as when you access the hotel through the back door it is a route march to find reception.
Very old building, lovingly maintained, with very modern rooms, best of both worlds. All the staff are extremely freindly and professional, the food is exceptional, great stay.
room was great large room and very comfortable much more than we expected for the money we paid service and staff first class highly recommend it and restaurant was very good
