I had a really positive stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. The location is excellent for the NEC and also close to the High Street, while still being far enough away that the hotel itself felt peaceful. My Grand Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the hotel accommodating my last-minute upgrade and doing its best to honour my room requests. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. A special thank you to Saleem, the Deputy General Manager, and Lucy for their help during my stay. Saleem also very kindly waived my overnight parking charge, which I greatly appreciated. A few things prevented me from giving five stars. Room 351 had a noticeable humming noise from nearby machinery, and the room remained quite cold despite using the heating function. The bathroom also became extremely hot and steamy, and the extraction did not appear to work effectively. A fridge would have been useful, as would slippers for the very cold bathroom floor. There were also a couple of small housekeeping oversights with soap and bin liners. I would also encourage the hotel to consider complimentary parking for resident Blue Badge holders. I didn't have enough time to experience all the hotel's amenities, but overall I felt very well looked after. It was a great place to stay, with genuinely helpful staff, and I would happily return.

This is clearly an old hotel under transformation. Pictures from their website are reflective of the effort in refurbishing this old building into a modern hotel - it feels great but isn't finished yet which means some areas such as corridors have builders dust and no carpets, but bedroom was nicely refurbished and the lounge / bar and dining areas are welcoming. Friendly staff and when things weren't quite right, were quick to take ownership and make the appropriate correction.
