“Whilst location is a little remote, it is a short drive to shops, cafe’s, restaurants and walks in the Dandenong Ranges. The rooms are adjacent to the hotel that were good value for money delicious meals. We ate at the hotel every night and were not disappointed. Carpark is free and close proximity to your room. Rooms were large, up to-date and clean however lacked a microwave if you wished to warm or cook basic meals. Overall we were happy with our stay and would definitely stay again.”

“The hotel definitely cannot be called Grand. It was build on a pub. But it is true it has a long history, built in 1833. It is not value for the money paid. First the checkin means calling the people from pub counter to the checkin desk to give you the key. And there is no elevator at the hotel, handicapped or large suitcase people not suggest to go. “It’s very dated and gives domitory style accommodation. Walls are very thin and I could hear everything in the next room and corridor. I could hear a man in an adjuscent room snore the whole night. Staff are not available onsight after-hours. I had to walk a very long way from my room to get hot water/tea and use the microwave which is in the common room, because the taps closest to me were broken. My room was full of ants and the bathroom tiles are brown with stains. Bed not so comfortable but……

Honestly, the cabins have seen better days and were a bit rough round the edges but, it was fully equipped for a family to stay (only 2 of us) and had pretty much all we needed.
