“It’s very dated and gives domitory style accommodation. Walls are very thin and I could hear everything in the next room and corridor. I could hear a man in an adjuscent room snore the whole night. Staff are not available onsight after-hours. I had to walk a very long way from my room to get hot water/tea and use the microwave which is in the common room, because the taps closest to me were broken. My room was full of ants and the bathroom tiles are brown with stains. Bed not so comfortable but……

“The hotel definitely cannot be called Grand. It was build on a pub. But it is true it has a long history, built in 1833. It is not value for the money paid. First the checkin means calling the people from pub counter to the checkin desk to give you the key. And there is no elevator at the hotel, handicapped or large suitcase people not suggest to go. “For the price point of this accommodation it was very disappointing. The bathroom had no door to the shower causing the entire bathroom to be wet. No mirror above the free standing bathroom sink. Mirror in the bathroom was opposite the toilet! No milk supplied. Arrived at 3pm and the cottage was absolutely freezing taking over 1.5hours to warm up. Entry to the cottage was half way down the driveway and up a heavily overgrown pathway with no lighting at all. Needed to use our phones to see where……

“All in all we had a good stay there. Honestly, the cabins have seen better days and were a bit rough round the edges but, it was fully equipped for a family to stay (only 2 of us) and had pretty much all we needed. Beds were comfy, everything worked and thank god there was enough heating as it was FREEZING COLD down there. It is a bit tricky to find at first off badger rd. “What a beautiful property, easy check in. Everything was there we needed for a perfect weekend . That extra touch of fully stocked tea bags , milk water bottles and little snacks just makes all the difference. Beds were comfy and had electric blankets. Might be bit hot in summer no fans in bedrooms. Lovely verandah with stunning views great Webber BBQ to. The only thing I would say is maybe a light at the front gate and better signs to the cottages otherwise 10 out of 10”

Did not realise it shares the fence with a funeral home which didn’t bother us but it bothered my Asian parents. The host, Lucy, is pleasant and responsive. Appreciate the thoughtful touches such as hand made soap from the Yarra Valley region. ”
