The suite was appropriately supplied for two people to prepare small meals. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable, as were the hallways and grounds. The room could use some minor updates: i.e. USB ports, horizontal grab bar inside the tub/shower, update worn straight back chair and repairing a “non-reclining” recliner. Price point was very attractive. We feel we got a bargain deal!

The price was great for the room we selected (king bed in a junior suite was only a $40 upgrade--taxes and fees included--from a regular king bed room.) Upon arrival we were greeted with a complimentary adult beverage. Check-in was very quick. Our room was very clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the swimming pool, which we had all to ourselves at around 4 in the afternoon. Unfortunately the hot tub was not open during our stay. We did not go into the casino but it looked like there were plenty of slot machines for patrons. The lady in the gift shop was very helpful and friendly. There was a variety of unique gifts. We did not dine at either kitchen or order room service, so I don't have information on their food options. Plenty of free parking was available.

This is really the only place to stay in Des Moines. It is so gorgeous. The scale of it is amazing. Everything from the Cool statues and artwork in the library to the rooms themselves are just beautiful. Bravo!
