  • Home of Freeman Walker, outstanding citizen of early Georgia. Born in Virginia in 1780, he came to Richmond County in his youth and studied law. Freeman Walker, in 1826, deeded 70 acres of land to the United States Government to be used as an arsenal-the site now of the Junior College of Augusta. He reserved one acre as a family burial ground, known as the Walker Cemetery. He was the father of Maj. Gen. W. H. T. Walker, CSA. Admitted to the bar in 1802, he followed a life of public service; City Attorney for three years and Mayor of Augusta 1817-19, being the first to hold the city´s chief executive office under the name of Mayor, and Brigade Inspector of Gen. Valentine Walker´s brigade in 1813. He represented Richmond County in both branches of the State Legislature and represented Georgia in the U. S. Senate. Great accommodation after Hurricane Helene!

It was better than expected. Close to the highway, near a Chinese restaurant and gas stations. Decent breakfast every morning, and the room was clean and comfortable

Was 1st gonna stay at studio 6 (motel 6) to save money but it was horrible and got this place in stead! This place was doing renovations and needed it too. But I toughed it out just to see my son at fort Eisenhower, very close! Beds were actually very comfortable! But facility still needs improvement

Inside was very nice than it appeared from the outside. Even though the hotel had an odor upon entering and through out, it was not unbearable. Room was very clean

Nice, comfortable room

The air conditioner in first room I was in didn't work so they moved me; I appreciated that. The room was very comfortable. The bathtub didn't drain well but it didn't matter.

Need Better Assistance for Disabled & Elderly

All employees was very nice and helpful. NEED LOWER BEDS: I am 5'5" tall and disabled. I had to lay on the side of the bed as my 60 yrs old sister roll me into the bed. NEED SHOWERS ONLY: I also had difficulties lifting my legs over into and out of the tub.

The hotel room I stayed in was a disappointing experience overall. My flight was delayed so I communicated with the staff throughout the day in regards to my arrival status. However when I finally got to the hotel at 1am, the hotel attendant act as if he couldn’t find my reservation. Upon entering, a musty mildew or dirty carpet odor engulfed the space, hinting at poor ventilation or cleanliness issues. The air conditioning unit was extremely old and case was broken. When alerted staff was told that they were aware. Window had a chalky residue on them. When ask to clean, was told it’s from the sun and does not come off. Despite the wonderful friendly receptionist Jasmine, the room's condition left much to be desired, making it difficult to relax or feel comfortable during my stay. Thank God our activities For anyone seeking a pleasant lodging experience, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

First off, I was put in a room thats not even available because the Ac/Heat dont work in the room, so all day and night me and my fiancée was miserable. My Fiancée went down to the front desk and complained about the room, "The Owner" told my fiancée last night since she complained, Now we got to check out today instead of just giving us another big room that we paid for... instead "THE OWNER" himself acted very rude and was very disrespectful to my fiancé....

The staff was very friendly, the rooms weren’t clean and the curtains and couch were old and outdated and the bathroom needs a serious update. We didn’t eat breakfast so I can’t give an opinion on that and they definitely need to call and exterminator

The beds were uncomfortable and were made with metal I was in an adjoining room and had to use towels at the bottom of the door to keep the cannabis smell out of my room. The hotel is very dated.
