A range of restaurants and cafés, plus a local supermarket and Pingo Doce if you want to take a snack back to your room, to eat on your balcony. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Hotel is traditional, but has modern air con with a lift for all floors. The rooms are well kept and very clean, with a mini fridge and flat screen TV. “The property is attractive and generally comfortable. Sadly I did see a cockroach in my bathroom, which scared me and stopped me sleeping for a night. I did message a maintenance man who was very friendly and laid some insect powder and emptied the bin the next morning. Also the shower flooded after 2 mins of use so I had to remove the plug whilst I used it and put it back afterwards as I think the cockroach may have come from the drain. “This is a lovely relaxed hotel/apartment in an excellent location just 2 minutes’ walk from the local bars and restaurants. The hotel has a self-check-in system and they email with a door code so you can arrive and go straight to your room. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable, with two pillows each and an extra blanket if needed. There was plenty of storage and hanging space for clothes and a small fridge.
