Amazing View!
We really enjoyed our stay at Black Mountain Sky. The cottage was cozy and comfortable and felt like home. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook meals, but the best part of the house was the huge deck! We could sit out there for hours taking in the amazing view. Just stunning!

From the moment we entered the house, it felt & smelt like home. The house was very clean & welcoming. The fresh aroma was astounding. Shout out to the clean up crew & owner. I loved every bit of it. The sliding exit doors in every room was the best. The house was home ready where we didn't need to leave for a thing. The huge patio & view was heaven on earth! Peace surrounds that home. Amazing cabin for an amazing vacation
As many other reviews have indicated, it's a Million Dollar View, perfect. We even got a light snow to top it all off. The cabin is well appointed and well cared for. We didn't need to bring anything but our food and personal items, everything else is there. Yes it has little quirks as all cabins do, that's part of the charm of a cabin in the mountains. Every cabin tells its own fascinating story. Abra the owner was excellent with communication and very accommodating, went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied.

Peaceful Retreat
This small cabin near Burnsville has some of the nicest views imaginable from the very large deck. This is our second stay at this property and we were looking forward to enjoying the views and the peace and quiet of the location. The view was different this time because of the haze and smoke from the Canadian wildfires, but it was still interesting and lovely. The two bedrooms have amazing views of the mountains across the way that can be enjoyed while lying in bed. Our stay was short but very enjoyable and I hope to return in the future.

The views were great. Patio was the best part of the stay. Lots of options to sit on, enjoy view, and have a fire. Amenities were there as stated. We both struggled with congestion and once we left house it cleared up. I stayed in back bedroom and it was not as clean as I would prefer. Netflix we had to reset every 7 minutes. VRBO site would not allow me to all questions needed for hosts. This delayed our departure. Also, filled dishwasher although no detergent to run it. Again great views. Weather was pretty nice so we were able to use 2 out of 4 nights!

Great view!
We enjoyed our stay, and the cottage is well equipped with many personal touches. I will say the road leading to the property is no joke, and not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for a get-away and stay, this place is perfect. We did feel like our activities in the surrounding areas were curtailed somewhat by the daunting prospect of the road to the cabin-would never want to do it in the dark or rain. Awesome views!!!!

The view was really second to none and so was the quaintness of the place. The driveway was about as steep as they come, but i live on a mountain gravel road so it wasn't much for me. But I would give a fair warning to less rural residents.

Million dollar view!
The house was clean, comfortable and nicely equipped. The view breathtaking! Abra thoughtfully provided a good supply of firewood. The steep drive was tricky-especially with a thick layer of slippery leaves (it’s fall ya’ll) after a rain. Found a leaf blower and problem solved. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing view!! Needs a good deep clean!
The location is amazing (driveway a bit tricky but it's the mountains, part of the adventure!), we rented this house because of the view. It was the perfect backdrop for our elopement. The house is in good shape and we enjoyed having the fireplace and the TV amenities! The house does need cleaning, the ceiling fans were very dirty, there was an overload of lady bugs, maybe unavoidable this time of year but they were everywhere inside the front of the house! The shade on the door should be replaced, it was ripped and fixed with a few bandaids. Overall, thank you for a wonderful place to get married, we will be coming back but wanted to pass along a few cleaning items to think about :)

Room with a View!
Nice home nestled in the woods of a mountain in Burnsville. The views were spectacular from sun up to sun down. Easy day trips to anything you might want to do. The driveway was a little scary upon arrival but soon got the hang of it. A family of deer was in our woods so enjoyed seeing them every day. Enjoyed our stay. The view at this property will not disappoint.

We all had a great time. Some TV issues but host was awesome and helped us through. If it weren't for football we wouldn't of even cared. We would stay again. The deck was well used.

Overall it was good, but needed a few updates. The view was beautiful enough to make up for the tiny issues inside. I didn't communicate with property manager. Having the opportunity to build a fire in the fireplace was a special treat.

Loved this mountain side getaway the house was great. View from the deck is just breathtaking started and ended each day out there. Conveniently located to the Bluetidge parkway and close to Burnsville quaint little town driveway was a little intimidating

First thing that I would like to mention that is a common theme with the other reviews about this cabin is the access to it. People have said that the driveway entrance is daunting or scary. It is not at all. The other reviews get you to think that you need a AWD/4WD. You don’t. Maybe in the wintertime it might be a good idea. My wife and I easily accessed the cabin with a Toyota Camet

The Mountain View picture is what sold me on this location but the house needs work. Curtains in dining room are thread bare. Shade on front door is rip. Bathroom baseboards need to be cleaned. Windows sills need to be cleaned. Carpet needs to be cleaned. Not a place for children due to very small yard plus house built on a ledge. Bushes on front steps need to be cut back.

Up the mountain. Literally
There was a slight miscommunication on check in however the Evolve Team (a company, not a person close) helped get everything situated and we were in the house in about 10 minutes. The drive to the house is damn near a vertical climb and reverse going down. One road in and out. Just be cautious and the two turns you have to make are hairpin so take them easy. I suggest to back down the driveway to the property because it makes life easier. The views are great from the porch. We were able to see fireworks from our location. I would recommend the property.
