Booked the Superior bedroom - beautiful room and bathroom, even had the radio on playing Christmas carols when we were shown in which was a nice little touch. Very warm and cosy room. Underfloor heating in the bathroom. Nice continental breakfast. Good selection of teas and coffees in the room and even fresh milk. Tucked away from the main road into the lakes . Friendly welcome when I arrived and then super helpful and chatty all through my stay . The room was their smaller comfy double but there was plenty of space even if there had been two of us. Lovely touches like both kettle and supplies and a coffee maker and choccy biscuits to go with it , plus a small fridge with water and proper milk inside. Clean and well presented through out. The bathroom was very modern , nice waterfall shower within a large double shower cubicle . The room was warm all the time - obviously well insulated and the radiator heated up instantly ! I only had the radiator on for 10 minutes and the room was very warm indeed - I had to turn it off again ! Breakfast was a continental breakfast - lots of choice and again friendly service . I had dinner in the evening and the food was good amd tasty . I am definitely going to return . Really lovely overnight stay and dinner to break up a long journey. Very pleased to have stumbled across this gem of a place - very comfortable, clean and charming. Our room was wonderful, it was large, comfy, and had a spa-like bathroom. It is one of the nicest places I have stayed. The only thing that would have made it better would have been transport to the Sister hotel (longlands) to make up for the lack of kitchen for evening meal. There is a shortage of taxi's in the local area, being quite remote. Beautifully re-furbished premises. Quality throughout. The only real criticism relates to light pollution. When we switched off the lights in our room, we became aware of the intrusive warning/standby lights.
