The host was easy to contact and very helpful. The property is secluded and we saw tons of birds and lightning bugs. The hot tub was the perfect way to end the day after a long hike or a kayak trip down the Kickapoo river (Mr Ducks was a fantastic place to rent kayaks, tubes or canoes). It is rustic and aways out there, but so worth it! Very clean and has everything you need. Plenty spacious and comfortable. Oct 21, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy It was amazing! The location is secluded except for the occasional hunter (Tis the season). We loved our stay. The only thing I would change for next time is potentially have a cleaner come the morning of check in to vacuum up all the bugs (lots of spiders, Japanese beetles, and box elder bugs inside the house upon arrival). A little mouse poop in the oven as well, but this is what is expected with a rustic location. We couldn't find the extra propane for the grill, so we will remember to bring some next time. This was a great place to add to our trip to LaCrosse for state track. It is well represented in the description and reviews. As everyone says, it is remote.
